Great video, Sidney. I have taken a couple of classes with you and know your techniques are "tried and true". I am going to give the cookie cutters and Isomalt a try. Thanks!!

Beautiful! Thanks for the video, I would have never thought you could do this with isomalt! My question is: Is isomalt edible? I mean, doesn´t it break into glass shards-like pieces? Thanks!
@sidneygalpern8 жыл бұрын
+Rocio Diaz-Benjumea Isomalt is sugar free hard candy. It is just like sugar free jolly ranchers, mixed into cough drops and chocolate. It is edible and only suggested in lolly pop size doses per day as some get stomach upset if they eat it in large quantities. It is a by product of beet sugar.

How could I suspend this above a cake?
@sidneygalpern9 жыл бұрын
+Cat Garcia You could use a food grade wire and suspend it from that or pull a curlicue in isomalt and suspend it from there. Good luck and send pictures to me!

it was edible up until she put disco dust around the edges. why would you want it now? on a cake? since it's now inedible.
@sidneygalpern5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jana! As you can hear in the video, I am only using disco dust because this piece is for display only. There are plenty of edible glitters on the market that you can use instead if you are not comfortable with non-toxic products on your cakes- my personal favorite is DiamonDust from TheSugarArt.com! Thanks for watching.
