Great videos. Brings back memories for me as well. I did a lot of body/paint work in my youth. I'm 68 now and started repairing salvage vehicles 3 years ago. Thanks for showing this old dog a few new tricks!

Thanks for the great video! As far as the caulking attachment nomenclature, it is likely named after a caulking iron used in wooden shipbuilding to drive cotton strips between the planks.

Thank you so much for the information on the slide hammer Barely received it in the mail today and don’t know anything regarding the slide hammer. The only thing I know is that my car needs fixing

I have a pretty ridiculous body repair to do, and seeing all the different attachments for a slide hammer here is incredibly helpful. I have to make the hammer and attachments specific for my needs on this occasion, but it will be a fun project nonetheless.

Thank you for this invaluable tutorial! I'm in the process of straightening out a few dents and bought a stark heavy duty dent pulling kit, except it came with no instructions. It had all the attachments you dscribed and which I was just staring at in ignorance. Just an amazingly good video! thank you so much again!!

Sometimes the old tools are the best tools for the job, the fact these are still being sold and used tell you everything you need to know.

I've had that Morgan knocker for ever also and never used that "caulking " attachment either! But I'm glad to know the handle can come off to fit it (if it isn't rusted on for years of disuse!) I never saw the pulling clamp before- I always used a couple of other ones with a chain attached and yanked with a hook attachment. I'll have to tape the door hooks now too. Thanks,JK

Worked in a body shop for some years now, they’re definitely still using these tools but it makes since cause all the body guys I work with are 60 plus

Great video, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Any idea what that cone shaped grabber screw type attachment that you introdeced at about the two minute mark is called? I'd like to see if I can pick one up locally.

Unfortunately I don’t. It didn’t come from Morgan and I probably bought that almost 40 years ago I don’t know who the maker was. Thanks for watching

I have a civic that was hit in the quarter panel and tail light area pushed in about 3 inches . Would a slide hammer be enough to pull it out?

what are the hooks called on a pogo stick,I want to try to make my own,thanks in advance
@autobodytrainingsolutions8382 жыл бұрын
I think they’re just called hooks. You could use small chain hooks and weld them on. Thanks for watching

If that Amazon link leads to some revenue for you, then it looks like your seller is no longer offering it. You'll need to update it.

Thanks for making this video! When you were talking about the caulking tool, it reminded me of a time when I worked on wooden boats. They caulk/cork the seams between deck planks with a very similar tool. Here is a good video that describes it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5zNlaaihNOUa9k&ab_channel=SampsonBoatCo I bet the term is a holdover from back when cars had a lot of wood in them and body guys were working on boats too. Pretty cool stuff.
