Great stuff seeing how people do things in other countries. I just use a piece of bread for my carp fishing. I love watching the effort you guys go to to tempt a bite. Thankfully, we have plenty of big carp, redfin and some Australian natives for the taking around my area. Public lakes and rivers, so we do not have to worry about paying or anything. Spoiled really.

That carp looked very much like a true Wild carp to me. We have the same strain here in Mid Wales which the monks stocked back in the 1300's. They've never mixed with other carp that we know of so they remain true wild carp. The pool they're in is 1400 feet up above sea level, it's one of those places where you don't mind blanking, the view alone is worth the effort of walking up there.

Love your videos but you should be using a unhooking mat
@robshaw36555 жыл бұрын
never seen a match angler use an unhooking mat, they unhook big fish in the net. Mats normally used for bigger fish, or can place landing net on soft grass. I usually only use a mat if i want to weigh a fish as i can weigh it in my mat. Fish care is important but after having dragged a fish around a pond with a hook in its mouth whats most important? What annoys me more is the time some people take to get it back in the water when they are filming their catch and giving everyone a rundown about it. All you need is a quick photo. See some carp anglers now have antiseptic sprays to put on the fishes mouth.. !!!

I actually find getting the bigger fish out of commercials a bit of a challenge tbh. A lot of people in the one near me chuck get big baits and feeders out to the island but they completely ignore the margins. I had two 19lb carp out last week with a bread flake literally under my rod tip. On slower days, a trickling of pellets or groundbait down the side and a halibut pellet will usually do the trick for me!

Reading the comments there's plenty of things you could be picky over in the video but as pleasure anglers who cares. There were plenty of fish on the hook. Matchmen need everything "perfect" to compete. Pleasure anglers more concerned about whats in the flask and on the butties! How about a beach trip to Bridports West Bay and the thieving sea gulls. Not got 50yds from the ice cream shop and a gull had smacked the wife on the head and pecked her ice cream , then my son got a whack and it took the whole thing. PMSL.

I can't understand why you all go through so much trouble to catch carp. If you want to just catch the every cast use strawberry jello and cornmeal. No filthy hands, no maggots, not ground feeder bait. You all put far too much effort into carp. Try what i say and see how well it works.
