Using the Aqara Smart Pet Feeder C1 and Home Assistant for easy pet feeding automation.

I've bought the Aqara Smart Pet Feeder C1 and I'm using it with Home Assistant in an effort to help with those days when we're not around to feed our cat at his meal times and equally avoid leaving him out a pile of food for him to eat in one go.
I'm integrating this into my Home Assistant setup which I'm hoping will be super easy to set up automations for it but my biggest concern is, will the cat actually use it?

Glad to see the bowl can be removed - thinking of getting this to drop the food onto a snuffle mat to help with separation anxiety... For the barrel connector, that's probably to keep the connection secure and reduce the complexity of the charging circuit.

Great idea and your thoughts on the power connection seem reasonable. I can highly recommend it, it's worked perfectly since I got it all set up and the cat loves it 😂

Mine works perfectly. Using HA gets round one issue that Aqara may wish to address for those using the Aqara hub and the App. That is that there are, as far as I can see, no options for the number of daily feeds, it's 3 and that's it. Control via HA gives you flexibility on the number of feeds.

Ah ok, as I don't use the app so that's not something I'm aware of so HA is definitely the better choice for control then.

You need to have either an Aqara hub or a ZigBee dongle like the Sonoff one I've done a video on.
