This is a very particular case where b is even. In this case, delta'=b'^2-ac with b'=b/2 is used instead (it is easier)

I don’t even take calculus and I’m not smart enough to get into it for high school, I don’t know why I’m here. Why is this so entertaining to me?

1st mistake. Judging with one's ability with a routine of no practice at all. It's all work ethic. If you can find the right studying routine to help you learn quickly and correctly, you can learn anything. Calculus isn't an exception. It's a routine that's been discovered and practiced for a LONG TIME with individuals like yourself who once wondered its presence, learned it, and want to find more about it. Don't knock it until you try it. You don't even have to enroll. Go find a textbook in good edition and see what its about. People put Calculus under the same stigma that the Rubik's cube has. Yet, I bet you there are people out there who will still pick it up with proper work ethic and with little guide. It's never been made to be impossible.
