Amazing camera. Its almost like it was made just for hobby train videos. It would work so well for filming wildlife, certain sports, and many many smaller places. The part of this video that showed what the camera can do was the cab ride. Once a person really practices and learns this camera, who knows what's out there to make a movie about. I almost never make birds eye view videos, I adore filming from a low position. I mostly use my iPhone 6S for filming. I also use a small action cam for cab rides. But this Osmo Pocket has clearly many more possibilities. 🤩 Good review 👍

i bought the dji poket 2 thanks to your video. was searching for a way to film the model railroad exhibitions we are taking part in with our local club, and wanted a cabview filming...now i have a camera train, because i also use an external microphone for it. thank you for this video, will help this year at the eurotrack model railroad gathering in Veszprem Hungary where we will gather but also the local meeting we will hold in our town with our club and others from across Europe. go into your settings on the Osmo Pocket and change from AFC to AFS to change your focus. You have it set to object focus instead of full frame focus.

A very interesting camera! It's a bit of a shame the focal range is so narrow. Is it possible to adjust the f-stop to get a wider focal range?

The focal length cannot be changed optically. It is a fixed focal length with a field of view of about 80°. A wide angle lens is available as an accessory. I had bought this wide angle lens and tried this and immediately sent it back, because the wide angle lens reduces the quality of the video recordings significantly.

I just bought the Pocket 2, and the wider field of view apparently shortens the depth of focus significantly. Enough that it may be totally unsuitable for cab ride videos. Was there anything you did to set the focus on your Pocket to get the results you got? Like go to single focus mode maybe? Any thoughts you may have would help...

I'm just about to buy a DJI Pocket 2 for filming N-scale and H0 scale. A question, is it possible to set the tracking to the rails? Will not the gimbal follow in the curves then?

I guess the rails do not provide enough contrast for the camera's electronic. But you can fix the focus on the tracks and additionally increase the gimbal follow speed (slow, normal, maximum).

Sorry to disagree with the majority here, but, the camera is out of focus for most of the moving shots. The Gopro Session 5 is ten times better than this.

The latest version is the 8 (which is better than the 5) I'm in the market for a new camera, and, after watching this video I certainley won't be buying this one. Can't you see the onboard shots are awful.
