Using the Foxwell NT301 to Diagnose the 8100 496 8.1L Chevy GMT-800 Pickup

In today's video, I'll be using the Foxwell NT301 Scan Tool provided to me the good folks over at Foxwell Industries. I'll be using this to to confirm and assist in the diagnosis of our 2002 Chevrolet 3500 8100 496 8.1L 1 Ton Dually that I've been reassembling.
This scan tool will be able to read the the codes currently stored in the ECM and the TCM and so that we can perform further troubleshooting of the electrical system to pinpoint the source of the failed component.

Yep, I really like the Green Metallic. It's not a very common color on the big trucks.

Handy for sure. I’ve had only 3 codes show up on my ‘01 GMC in the last 22 years. Crank shaft position sensor I would have never found without reading the code. The others were for the O2 sensor and a transmission code. I reset the computer for those and they’ve never returned.

Hi, Bryan! EOBD stands for European OBD, which must not be confused with EOBD II (ENHANCED OBD II). EOBD is generally found on European cars 2001 and newer, and as far as I know, any OBD II scanner will work on them. EOBD II on the other hand, is specific to the car manufacturer and requires a dealership scanner such as the Tech 2 in the case of GM vehicles. One last thing: Driving 55 MPH *_or less_* for any length of time has been known to cause erectile dysfunction and loss of libido.🏁😎🏁

Hey Randy, thanks for the well wishes. I'm on the mend and feeling slowly better every day. Are you referring to the factor assembly line inspection markings in the chassis, like with the older Corvettes?

Yea, they're getting old enough now they're considered classic vehicles. Even though I like the new tech, I try to keep the stock equipment installed to match the time period.
