I’m watching this video on my iPad mini 2! It has been my daily iPad since 2013 and it still does everything I need from a tablet. Even though I upgraded my iPhone to the Xs and my computer to the 16 inch MacBook Pro, I haven’t got rid of the iPad mini 2. For me it’s still great and it has never failed me. Great video! Igor Patzlaff Macêdo I wouldn’t consider buying the mini 2 now based on the price. Like stated in the video one in good condition would cost around 200 dollars. The 2020 iPad 8th gen will most likely go for about 250 on Black Friday. But if you’re able to get a good deal on a well conditioned mini 2 then go for it.

Florian W this thing sucks. Even youtube lags, and the keyboard is laggy when i play games. Devs are also lazy when optimizing for apple devices. 80% of games crash or run awfully. Android is better, and android has more functions.

My iPad Mini 2 is still my only tablet today, going on 5 years, and it’s still very usable for KZbin, browsing, OneNote, Excel (laggy here though), Messenger (including video calls) and iBooks. It’s performs so much better (with iOS 12.4.8) than my iPad 2 did with iOS 9.3.5 (it was maddeningly slow, so I had to sell it). I can probably keep using this for 2 more years, but the iPad 8 is so tempting right now. My older eyes could use the bigger screen.

@@Likithrocks You just keep using under 3 active tabs. I'm still using my 7-year old 1st gen iPad Air (identical specs with iPad Mini 2), and I'm still very satisfied with its performance. I should note that I kept it in iOS 9 to balance app compatibility and performance.

Watching this on iPad mini 5 and I love this little thing! Got this yesterday and the reason I didn’t go for iPad 8th gen are 1. iPad 8 has 1.2 MP front cam vs 7 on mini 2. Mini has wide colour P3 screen 3. Also laminated with anti reflective coating 4. iPad 8 has Bluetooth 4.2 vs 5 on mini 5. Is a lot heavy These were enough for me to go for mini rather than iPad 8th gen.

I am still using an iPad Mini 3 (same A7 processor as the Mini 2). It was given to me for free a year ago so cannot complain too much. It isn't the fastest, but it definitely is still good for media consumption, web browsing and Kindle. I love the size and I hope apple keeps the "mini" iPad around!

They're really common in General Aviation. The mini is the perfect size to mount to the yoke which makes it super practical for navigation and chart applications. Outside of that specific use case I really struggle to see the value of them in 2020 though.

DerDion i use ios 12 and i regret everytime i use it. I only use it to play games, and it performs horrible in everything, freezes and crashes in most of games. Developers are also lazy when working in ios. Basically, all games run bad and look bad, all apps run bad, the system “ios” is nearly useless. And expensive? More than 100 bucks for ipad mini 2? Not worth it. If you have one since ages ago its fine, but do not buy an ipad mini 2 today, or another apple device. Im sure android tablets are better and cheaper, but it depends. Old android tablets from the same year of this thing are slow as hell and expensive too.

Hearing all of that about this little device is very true. The ipad mini 2 still holds up pretty well. The only problems im having right now is the battery life and the speakers getting quieter. I am very surprised on how long this device has lasted on me. especially after all the drops and things I spilled on it. Its probably the only device that lasted me over 5 years. And im very proud of that.

I just purchased one for £135 and I’m very pleased. It’s way better value than the mini 3 and the mini 4 is way out of my budget, I could in theory have bought a bigger air or air 2 but that would be too close to the size of my 13 inch MacBook, the mini slots perfectly in between the size of my iPhone 6s and MacBook, it’s the perfect size for me. I must also add that the condition of my iPad is amazing with it looking like it has never been used and having solid battery life, I started writing at 5% and now it’s at 3%. Overall I am happy with this iPad and would recommend it if your iPad budget is as low as mine and you need a mini

I know, iPadOS 14 doesn’t do a thing to that iPad performance. That iPad is still a beast. I can’t believe it. The one thing that I think should make Apple hurt like heck is the fact that it has the a8 processor, the same processor found in the iPod touch sixth generation, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus, all of which are now not supported on even iOS 13. The only difference inspects between the iPhone 6 6+ and sixth GEN iPod touch is the fact that the iPad mini 4 has 2 GB of RAM instead of one.

I love mini only iPads I've ever had. The 1st gen and now a Mini5. Side by side I liked the display (laminated and true tone) and of course 2x the base storage over the iPad, iPad. Mini's fit in my bicycle bags, my purse, so easy to travel with assuming we ever get to do that again.

I still use one that I bought in 2013. The battery completely drains after a few days, whether I've been on it or not, but the thing still performs the way that it did the day that I got it. They 're still patching iOS 12. For applications such as reading PDF's, it would be nice to have a bit more RAM to make it snappy, but I do in fact do that all the time -- because the display is sharp as a tack, in fact, still sharper than any iPad larger than the mini format, to this day. I recently switched to iPhone because I'm impressed with Apple's build quality, durability and support.

As someone who uses the iPad I made a list of pros and cons of the fallowing Pros: It now makes as a decent budget tablet It can go up to 64gbs of storage Decent video playback Good enough for social media Lite gaming (Maybe) good battery life Cons: It only has 1gb of ram so gaming can either be slow or some games won’t even be compatible It only goes up to ios 12 (12.5 as we speak)

My mom gave me her iPad Mini 2 since she got a new tablet and I still find it 100% useable. There hasn’t been any apps that I’ve wanted to use that aren’t able to still run on the iPad Mini 2, KZbin, Disney+, Netflix, Twitch, Plex all work fine. Some apps like KZbin force you to use an older update of KZbin but it’s still a useable version. All the games own work on it as well like Minecraft, GTA SA and Chinatown wars, Canabalt. IMO $120 is a pretty reasonable price if the iPad mini 2 is in good condition, you should still get a few more years of use out of it.

Well, if you would include shipping then it'll ultimately cost the buyer somewhere around 160$. I'm from india btw. I'm not sure about the shipping charges, but I'm pretty sure 60$ is a fine amount for me. The battery and the body is in great shape with little or no scratches. Works just fine for its age. Does the job. I'm sure its a good deal for the buyer, reply me here with your emails if anyone is interested.

I work for one of America's three largest cellphone carriers. They had us using iPad Mini 2s foot vigorous daily tasks up until May of 2019. I also still have a personal iPad Mini 2 that I use for ebooks.

Got this iPad model for nearly 7 years now. The screen is cracked and the device is pretty slow, but it still works! I use it on a daily basis for music and to play GTA Vice City sometimes.

Now in Sept. 2023, the iPad mini 2 sells for $40 on eBay lol. I just got mine and I have to say for $40 this thing is an absolute steal. I’m on the latest supported IOS version 12.5.7 and it looks and feels completely modern. With that said, app support is almost non existent. You can still download the latest supported version of some apps and they work just fine, however other apps don’t give you the option. So overall this tablet is perfectly acceptable for content consumption like KZbin, and other streaming services. A 2k Retina display for $40 is just unheard of in the current market and that’s where this thing shines. Some games play fine, but again some games you can’t download due to iOS support. Overall I love the size and build quality. Makes for a good mp4 player for offline usage for when on car rides or plane travel.

I personally used mine up until September 2018 (got it in December 2015) and then I upgraded it because it all of the sudden got really slow... maybe if I pull it out and update the software it will get faster? I've been using the Mini 2 daily since 2016, and the performance is not so great on iOS 12. It's definitely still usable, however there are random artefacts all over my display which I cannot get rid of and using Discord is a little bit slow, but you get used to it. I recently upgraded to the mini 6, its quite a nice tablet. My iPad Mini 2 has served me plenty over the last 4 years.

@@yenayena1 The Mini 2 does not have dark mode built into the operating system (iOS 12) as far as I'm aware. I've only noticed the dark keyboard appear when using apps with dark mode (like Discord or KZbin)

I still use my mini 3, and not planning to upgrade until Apple makes a mini 6 (Or mini 5 gets cheap enough). Other iPads are just too big, mini is the perfect size for me.

That was my first iPad. I bought the 16 GB modal for $280 back on 3-6-2015. I still have it though I use my 256 GB Mini 5 instead now.

Because I don't want a full size iPad! Why is that so hard to understand? Some people find the iPad to be too large for their needs. I love my iPad mini 5 and would recommend it to anyone who wants a smaller size tablet. I use it daily and it works flawlessly. It's totally worth the money.

I got the silver model in mid 2015 because at the time my Nexus tablet died and my brother and sister had their own iPads. I actually used this iPad up untill late 2018 when I got my 6th gen iPad, then the iPad mini went to my brother since his iPad's battery died. Then he got the 7th gen in late 2019 so then my sister now has the iPad mini. It was a pretty sweet little tablet when it was supported and I know that from experience.

I currently have the 1st generation ipad Mini and my daughter (3) uses it pretty much only for KZbin kids, as Netflix, Disney plus, hulu, or pretty much any other streaming service does not offer support for the ipad Mini 1 anymore. I recently retired it since I can't even download educational apps for her so I upgraded to the iPad 7th gen.

I had one that I was using on a daily basis, and when I upgraded my iPhone 5s to the iPhone X, I stopped using it and gave it to my sister. The speakers are better on the iPhone X, and the OLED screen is just so much better for content consumption even if it’s smaller. Planning to update my iPhone X to the largest iPhone coming this year

iPad mini’s are great. I have owned the iPad mini 1st gen, the mini 4 and now the mini 5. As long as Apple still sell this product I will continue to purchase the mini. It’s just perfect for portability and with iPad OS, the mini will be able to handle most computer task as its siblings. The mini is a perfect companion to a pc/laptop and phone. It’s my favorite device that Apple currently produces.

Recently sold my iPad Mini 4 because fed up with 16 GB of storage, and only got the new iPad Mini (2020) because of the 64 GB of storage coming in clutch. Nonetheless, while I won't appreciate the Apple Pencil and whatnot, I do appreciate the equivalent to the iPhone X's processor and because of that, it's snappiness. It's finally nice to open KZbin and not have it take forever to open and load. Some would argue I don't need it especially I rock the Surface Pro 6 and iPhone SE, but the iPad Mini being snappier (and more optimized with touch rather than Windows 10) and lighter to hold is why I justify my case.

I just bought a Mini 2 for 50 €, a quarter of the E-Ink Kaleido E-Reader I'm replacing with it. It's much faster than an expensive E-Reader introduced in 2021 for reading books and magazines!

I sure wish they made an iPad Mini 6 with an A14, touch ID, a 12 MP camera, 7 MP camera on the front, and of course, a headphone jack! 😎 You might wanna give it 2nd gen apple pencil support and 120hz refresh rate.
