Thanks so much for asking about our preference of video length. I too watch videos to unwind and much prefer 10-20 min videos. I usually get frustrated when I'm interested in the content but folks repeat and repeat just to make longer videos. That usually makes me turn away.

I just reset my first breeder bins. I have had them foraging for the last two weeks and kept the tops off “worm blankets 😊” to help dry the substrate down. I have very strong LED lights and they worked really well for getting the worms to go down fast so I could remove the bedding. I think the next time I will add a trap the last week so I can just grab the trap and put it in the new bedding without counting so much, my back was hurting by the time I got done. I’m not technically savvy either and stopped using my phone to record and switched to using my iPad because I couldn’t figure out how to make it fill the entire screen on youtube. LOL it I took all my brain power I had after going through school with the soil food web school to learn to use zoom and get my microscope camera to give a good picture on my computer. I am trying to just eat the elephant one bite at a time. 😁 🐘

Sounds like you have a good process for resetting your bins! I try to leave the “worm blankets” off for just a couple of days before resetting my bins, but that is because having the space heater running makes them dry out much more quickly. Thanks for commenting! I will be sure to fill your channel!

Hello. I just came across your channel. Your explanations and instructions are easy to understand and enjoyable to listen to. I am wanting to start a small worm farm for castings to remediate the soil in my garden. I am somewhat local to your area, being a little over an hour away. Can you divulge your vendor event schedule so that I can try to attend one of them? I would love to check out your system in person and possibly purchase some of your products.

Good morning! I am so glad you found me! My currently events are: 3/19 Central Library downtown 5pm-6pm Vermicomposting and DIY workshop (I will have materials for sale as well), 4/14 City Greens Market: Meet Your Farmer event. I will be leading a vermicomposting workshop and vending. 4/20-21 Saint Louis Earth Day Festival: Vending. Hope you can make one of these!

Hi Ro, I struggle with camera angle and keeping my arms from blocking the camera. Having said that, I personally prefer the overhead shot without me in the picture. You have such a friendly presence in your videos. I'm curious why you sell your breeders rather than juveniles? I think selling ready made bins is the way to go locally. ~ Sandra

Hi Sandra! Thank you so much for that input! I do really enjoy those overhead videos as well. Maybe I’ll try a few of those. Ideally I wouldn’t be selling my breeders, but I am down to those bins at the moment because I’ve set up all of my juveniles in ready-to-go worm bins that I will be selling at my first vending event tomorrow. I may end up needing to purchase more worms to close the gap for a bit until all of my cocoons hatch and catch up, since I have several workshops and vending events lined up over the next few months. We’ll see how that part goes. Thanks again!
