My 2024 WR250F Power Tuner WiFi password was the CCU serial number--there was no password shown on the CCU. I could not get my iPhone to connect (I tried everything) but my old Android phone connected right up.

As far as we know it's not locked to that bike, so in theory, you could remove it and use it on another bike.

hey, i have a yamaha yz450 fx 2019 and i had no clue i could use this mapping system, what map does it come stock would it be the “sloapy” mode? i find i have plenty of power but knowing i can feel more with these settings is crazy. does “hard pack”makes a huge difference in terms of power and top speed?

The "hard pack" map will make the power smoother so the bike will maintain traction better on a slick hard packed dirt. The maps make a huge difference though, so play with them and they will help get that awesome 2019 tailored to you perfectly. Enjoy

Also the Stock map is just standard with "0" entered into every position on the fuel mapping and ignition timing charts. The changes from there can go either richer or leaner on the fuel mapping and then advance or retard the ignition timing to get the power to feel different. Good luck and have fun.

just got a 2020 yzf 250 have got the app all set up and have the 3 original maps saved on it how do you use the 3rd do you have to move it as the 1st or 2nd on the list to use it?

Congrats on your bike, you will love it. You will have to send the two maps you want to use to the bike as either map 1 or map 2. After you upload them to the bike, Map 1 is selected when the map button is not lit up and Map 2 is with the light on.

Thank you for the comment and the 2020 will be a great bike. The hours can't be reset. You can reset the time on the oil change and other things but total time can't be reset.

This is Trent at RMS, i am surprised to hear that you have had that issue. I put 68 hours on mine, in one season, and never had a spark plug issue. We've also had a bunch of those go through our doors that haven't done that as well. Did you have a shop check your bike out? That's definitely not common on these yzfs.

On the WR model you have to add the Competition Kit and the Communication Kit before it will let you tune the machine. After you have installed the Competition Kit and the Communication Control Unit so you can use the tuning function of the App, We have had good feed back on the TP5 and TP3 settings with the stock and aftermarket exhaust. You can tune the 450 to be much smoother but not quite to the 250f level. You can start with one of Yamahas smooth map for your year and model and go a bit more rich on the mapping and retard the ignition a bit more to get you there. You will have to play with it to find your sweet spot, but that is the cool thing about Yamaha offering the tuning tool.

I have a 2021 WR250F and can’t seem to find a map that will keep the bike from flaming out at low RPMs. I do a lot of single track riding and technical riding in the lower range of the RPMs. Any chance you could help with a map that could rectify this problem?

There isn't. For the 2018 WR450F you can use the GYTR tuner, but you do have to get the competition black box to be able to program your bike because they set the WR models up with some emission meeting parameters that can't be changed on the stock Black box. i am doing this on the 2020 WR250F. You have to buy the GYTR Peformance ECU and replace the stock locked ECU. Then buy the CCU unit from Yamaha. Which is basically the wifi module to connect to the Yamaha Tuner app on your phone. Pricey though $$$$

So We live out in the desert, I have a Verizon galaxy note 9, it has a wi fi setting, but there is no wi fi anywhere near us. So do you have to have wi fi signal like people use at Starbucks?

Hi Robert! Your bike will create it's own wifi signal so you should be able to connect even out in the desert away from internet wifi.

The Power Tuner app works for the 2018-Current YZ450F models, 2019-Current YZ250F models. Also the 2019-Current YZ450FX and 2020 YZ250FX models. If your 2018 is a 250F you will have to use the older Plug in GYTR Tuner

It shows on the app to do it without the bike fired I have tried without the bike fired up and get error code 408 do I need to start the bike like you do in the video

You have to have the electrical system going so sometimes you just have to hit the start button without firing up the engine but we have had better luck just starting the bike and then getting the phone connected. Then we shut the bike off and do our mapping changes or maintenance logging before the system times out and kicks you off. Thanks for watching.

What bike do you have? The 2019-current YZ250F came with the map button on the left side of the bars that you could switch the map with. The 2020-current YZ450F had the switch. It is a button that you press that will light up, and stay lit , for map 2. The light would be off if the bike was on map 2. If you don't have the switch, you can't switch between maps and would just need to put the map that you want to run as map one and export that to your bike.

You need to get the SN number off the wifi box, that sits behind the left side panel. Start the bike, Then you go into your wifi settings on your phone. the gytr powertuner option will be shown. when you select that it will ask for the password. The SN number is that password. That should get you in

At what point are you running into the difficulty? Did you get the WiFi password off the black box behind the side panel? After you have started the bike, or woke up the electronics are you able to see it the GYTR WiFi option under your Wifi options in your phones setting screen? Yes that is correct. The WiFi signal is for the power tuner app only. So your app will work as it is suppose to but you won't be able to search the internet off the bikes WiFi signal.

That mapping app won't work with your 2015. But your bike would work with the GYTR Power Tuner tool that they used for the 2014-2018 yz250f. What year and model do you have? Some of the YZF models can have 2 maps on them at once, where as some can only have 1 map on the bike. You can have quite a few ready to send on your phone with the app, but the bike is limited as to 1 or 2 depending on model and year.

They are very specific on the year and model. You wouldn't want to put a 250 map in a 450 and a 2019 450 map would not work as well in the newer top end design on the 2020 and new models.

To tune the Yz250f from 2019-current, the Yz250fx from 2020-current, the Yz450F from 2018-current, and the Yz450fx from 2019-current, you would need the app to tune your stock ecu.

Which 2019 model did you get? In 2019 it was only on the YZ250F, YZ450F and YZ450FX models. If yours didn't come with it from the dealership, speak with the dealership you got it from and see if they can get you all lined up.
