You make it look so easy, whenever I try to use a knife on anything I always slice the paper or the washi tape or other I put down lifts back up. But this looks so satisfying if I can’t do it at least I can see others do it try to take tips 🤣

Always press lighter than you think you have to! A potential problem on why you might b pressing too hard is that your blade is dull-- in which case please replace! Not only does using a sharp blade make the process easier, it's also much safer to use!

i showed this to my mom who used to work in the newspaper industry in the 80s and 90s and she gasped and said she used to use these all the time! i had no idea this is how you would create gray tones back in the day before laser and digital printers. what a cool technique!

@user-bx3kz9sp8p12 күн бұрын
@@novakitty1619 REAL!! THIS!!! Thankfully my medium is digital, so what I do is just download a bunch of free stamps, brushes, etc. to see if I can figure it out or not. Most times I can't.... my procreate app is filled with 100s of brushes I don't use......... >->' BUT if I *DO* figure it out, then I buy the full pack lolol
@jessl193410 күн бұрын
@@novakitty1619The answer is: you play, just like you used to as a kid If that's a bridge too far then you might find it easier with the structure of attempting to replicate or do a heavily-inspired piece based on a completed work without knowing how the artist arrived at their end point. If someone wanted to learn how to use this technique I'd encourage them to try and replicate a finished cell from a comic book that has heavy use of shading.

@@Sour.patch.delight isn’t that the price of a single sheet ? 😭
@helixxia932016 күн бұрын
@Sour.patch.delight so how do you know it is not bad then if you don't know the amount of papers for the price you mentioned. if that is per sheet then that price range is very costly no matter the brand. i've never seen any screen tone sheets i would deem as cheap and since they are used up so easy the money flies fast. for my wallet they are all expensive imo but idk how your financial life is if you don't feel that's very much money to spend
