Beautiful - Love watching your process - thankyou so much for sharing 🙂 Interesting that you started with such a complex background layer and it ends up all been covered up. Do you therefore need to start with the initial background layer? TIA

Tricia, thank you for you question, the background layer is somewhat of an icebreaker and "sherpa" (if you will) in the creative process. For many artists, the blank canvas is inhibiting. Once it is completely covered, you can add, subtract, edit with more confidence and courage. Certainly it is not required, but it has been helpful for me and more than once, I have seen a suggestion of an image I wanted to develop out of the collaged base!

Thank you Betty, and thank you for your question, I used Ranger Distress Oxide Ink Pads which are not archival, but you can easily substitute Ranger Archival Ink Pads instead!

Nadia, thank you for your great question! Normally I would create directly on the base, but because I used this base to create three different art pieces, (The Peace Project, a Floral and a Bird) I copied it and used it three different ways

Carol, yes, I offer my art for sale, my website is here...vikkireed.com/ You have MANY options for offering your work for sale. You can get it scanned (or photograph it yourself) and upload it to a POD site such as Fine Art America. You can adhere your paper (original) to panel and spray varnish it, and offer it for sale. If you have a high quality scan, you can also offer it as digital art. I hope that helps, good luck!

Patt, the supply list of everything used is below the video, I have copied the pigments here: Liquitex Basics White, Liquitex Tinted Gesso (with Golden Fluid Acrylic Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold), Golden Fluid Acrylic Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Golden Fluid Acrylic Teal, Golden Fluid Acrylic Phthalo Blue Green Shade, Liquitex Soft Body Yellow Orange Azo, Liquitex Soft Body Vivid Red Orange, Holbein Heavy Body Sepia. The Golden Fluid Acrylic Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold has become VERY expensive and difficult to find, and I have been looking for a substitute, but it is such a magical pigment...haven't found anything yet.

BTW ... you mentioned about using your finger to "paint" and acted somewhat cavalier about it. PLEASE be careful. I was cavalier about using alcohol inks and not ventilating well, and now my lungs are messed up.

Cowgirl Jane, you are absolutely right...paints are toxic, alcohol inks should absolutely not be used without venting and one should always use gloves when touching the paint. I hope I said "don't do as I am doing..."
