ABoV Thank you very much and I’m going to give my best and only my best. I joined the corps because it is the only military branch in my opinion that requires to give your more and all. I’m not a quitter and I want to prove that

Keep your eyes and ears open and do everything quickly and loudly. If you see another recruit struggling with something, help him. You will only get through boot camp through teamwork. That will be your biggest takeaway from this unforgettable experience.

I’m trying to get an understanding about what two of my sons faced in Basic. Very close family friends are both Marines ( Ret ), he was a DI, I couldn’t quite picture that until I began watching a lot of these Corp videos, and knowing them as I do I can now picture that. His voice has strength and power to it. If I seek his advice, he politely told me to be quiet, no more questions and listen. Yeah, I can now see it better. I asked my friend a very stupid request, which was to give me a DI yell, well it was an immediate regret and apology from me because I respect them both so much, I respect all my sons, and I respect The Corp. I learned back when I was young to never ask my father questions regarding his service as a US Army Field Medic in Korea, he had it rough and I saw how he struggled, there wasn’t a lot of outside help or resources back then. My Sincere Respect for EVERY Soldier, it doesn’t matter which branch but it’s really because of my sons, I really wanted to see more. God Bless you all, God Bless The Corp. Thank You All.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will ... My rifle and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit ... My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will ... Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

The EGA should only be given at the time of graduation. We had recruits be dropped right after the advanced infantry training. There were still three weeks left in Boot Camp. We also had recruited be punished with physical experiences that was warranted.
