They're great packs. The pockets behind the padding...I got one that had an unopened MRI energy bar stuck back there. You can literally use those for anything

Yea they're great, I put gloves in them. I like the color too.

Those two pockets on the back are made to stow the shoulder straps in if you have the assault pack mounted on the main ruck. You detach the quick release then stuff the shoulder straps in there. I see so many people say you could put this in here that in there. Yes, you can! But they are there for the shoulder straps.

You will never go wrong with packs that are military grade and especially if you can find military issue surplus. They are also excellent for smaller bugout packs like the USMC military issue pack that I have for my wife. It was from my stepson that was issued during the Iraq war. You did a good and thorough review on this pack and expressing your thoughts about it.

The pockets that are located on the back are for your shoulder straps to be tucked up out the way .three day assault pack is used in conjunction to the main rucksack. This assault bag is about one of about four pieces that make up the main rucksack. It is attached to the main pack via snap buckles top and bottom left and right side of assault bag. Just FYI :)

Yea I was loosely aware if that, similar to the Army system.

I use a Hazard 4 Gray Man Patrol bag to stay low key and look less tactical. I just wish it was made in the USA. I shy away from military bags, I gravitate more towards Grayman gear to blend in. Easier to disappear and blend in amongst the populas with Gray man clothing/gear in an urban environment and in the outdoors, you can look like a regular backpacker.

Yes of course, I agree this definitely has the molle but at least it is not camo. This pack is kind of a jack of all trades pack, very versatile. Def not an urban EDC bag though, but as a BOB or GHB or hunting/hiking pack its perfect.

NYPrepper You can get the velcro molle to hide all that molle when you want. The molle can be hidden with the velcro molle adaptors.
