I can respect that that at the end of the oath he took is so help me God. It’s the respect of the men below him in rank. Which helped him and I truly believe that 30 years from now historians will back him more than they will back the higher ups

It is called a full measure of devotion. To die on the battle field is the "last full measure of devotion." To sacrifice his career for his brothers in arms and his nation is a full measure of devotion.

As for pushing the 100% Veterans for office thing... I think its great to have all these special veterans running for congressional seats, but it is also great to have a diversity of professional people with conservative values in those seats. It has been said before on this podcast that leadership is the most important skill, which is currently lacking, that we need in government. All of these dudes, and dudets, are going to need to have congress, not sexual congress, with lawyers who understand how to fight legal battles, and use legislation to make America better... but we need these guys and gals on committees as well. There are so many ways that "the right people" can turn that swamp into swan lake baby.

I have been following all of this closely since the first Gulf War. Including Spec Ops etc, and not to Brag but to add something of Value to this discussion, as a former member of NSW, who had relatives that were Admirals, etc. What I'm seeing is a tragic lack of understanding of how life really works, and the Value of Self-Discipline and Self Accountability. And a whole slew of other problems etc. I was taught that you Consider the source when hearing or reading anything. And I was born in 1966. I remember Journalists like Peter Jennings and Walter Cronkite who would not approve of the current state of Investigative Journalism. And really what I have seen from the current state of Military Leadership at this time is like a Manual on how to be a pisspoor leader and ruin the morale of your subordinates.

Stu, "Senior leaders don't know how to _______". Senior leaders are focused on "mission success", with regards to what the definition of "mission success" means for them. For people with integrity, the result of mission success is always different than what the result of mission success is for those without integrity. This is what it comes down to: The actions and behaviour of people without integrity will always be confusing and appear chaotic to those of us with integrity. Remember Sun Tzu? "Know your enemy". The problem is sometimes we do not correctly perceive WHO the enemy is. The enemy can easily be revealed when their purpose conflicts with yours. It is not about differences of "opinion", it is about differences in purpose.

No one reads professional papers in the military anymore. I was at a certain training center in the Mojave in 2020. My team was asked to write issues we see and recommendations. After some spring cleaning, we found an article from 2013 that said the exact same thing we were seeing. We wrote "ditto" and posted in the our area.

We have to change the system, Stu. That does not mean, "throw out the constitution", it means, "throw out the people who are running the system, who are not running a constitutionally-adhering system". The system is not being run constitutionally. The letter of the law is not being followed. The spirit of the law is also being ignored.

In the history of Military Leadership, and the history of this Country Presidents etc, most of the good Military leaders have been in a war or have come from Humble begginings etc. And Good Civilian Leaders have been in the Military etc. And I have really seen and heard of Numerous Examples, which prove that when Dr. Martin Luther King jr said " Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice everywhere.
