The pieces of paper are the different fireteam positions they are currently in for example: Automatic Rifleman, Fire Team leader, etc. Different fireteam formations require them to be in different positions.

It's the opening scene in the movie. It's played to create stress and confusion while the actual explosions and bullet fire go on around you. It's really quite different to be there in person. I just graduated last week and gotta say that I loved that course.

Thank you so much sir. I am so thankful for people who actually give respect to people like this, the people who I will join. Once again, thank you

i am happy to see them going through intense training .These trainings that will keep them alive. I have been through the same. After certain time you turn to a warrior and kill not to be killed.
@TJkiwiOWEG11 жыл бұрын
because it's supposed to simulate what you would hear in combat. Tom hanks got me through that course.
@TwoWheelinInc11 жыл бұрын
Its used to distinguish what position in the fire team you are. For example Fire Team Leader, Automatic Rifleman, Asst. Automatic Rifleman or Rifleman. It helps recruits learn the basics of fire team positions and their locations in different types of fire team formations, like Column, Wedge, Echelon, Skirmishers.

Nice to see Edson Range again. I did a re-qual there a long time ago. When I went through boot camp we fired at Camp Matthews. One of the last platoons to train and qualify before it was closed and the land transferred to UCSD. Recruit training has really changed over the years.
@RavenBlaze11 жыл бұрын
Amazing how far they have come in the "real life" scenario training (I mean from studying the old video's of training).

This is why any marine at any time no matter if he is a cook, administration, or even a muscian. At anytime anyplace a marine male/female can pick up a rifle and join in the fight.

@omgitsmilk Compliments of being raised in a military family. My Grandfather served in the Marine Corps during vietnam. My other Grandfather was a master sergeant in the Army during Korea. All 3 of my uncles went through Ranger Training together, with my one remaining uncle joining the Navy. People need to thank these guys, not critique them.

I like how they have the Saving Private Ryan beach assault playing in the background, adds a bit of realism to the course. I wish they had that when I was in boot camp.

It's their posistion when they are in "fire teams". A fire team is a four person unit, with only a leader, SAW gunner, assistant gunner, and rifleman.. Each Marine has a designated spot when conducting various Fire Team movements. i.e. column, wedge, skirmishes ect.
@DatTrueTruth11 жыл бұрын
it's they're position in their fire team. you have the team leader, ready man, gunner, and assistant gunner.

There's a scene exactly like that in the film Jarhead and that was set in 1989 based off of the memoirs of an ex-marine, so my guess would be that it was used a lot later on than the 40s
@vla56711 жыл бұрын
I can't remember what each one exactly means but I remember that one indicates that your a saw gunner, squad leader, heavy weapon, and I want to say point. That's when you start learning tactical formations like wedges. It's there so the recruits can visually see where they need to be so not to cause more unneeded confusion.

Dont remember off the top of my head what each one represents specifically but they are the persons position in the fire team IE: fire team leader, riflemen, machine gunner, and assistant machine gunner.

i train em every other day with pyramids and circuit training and have had strength gaining routines designed for pull ups and nothing. tried diets and all sorts of supps and got really strong but no more then 1 and a 1/2 to 2 pull ups. i was told by my old recruiter whos a master sgt now to go navy and do corpsman or seabees but we will see about that
@DoctorSwellman12 жыл бұрын
They don't show weeks 8-13. It has to do with their standards on OPSEC in accordance with what they teach the recruits during that time frame. Some things, they really can't just put out there.

+gtarules1 When the hammer is up the weapon cannot be on safe. The hammer holds the trigger down and that blocks the selector lever from moving into the safe position. Once the hammer is pushed back down the selector lever is free to move to the safe position.
@poolee778 жыл бұрын
+DrE38 he was going over the steps in a function check while they were cleaning, that is all. As Golden Aura said, the weapon cannot be placed on safe while the hammer is up.

shit brings a tear to my eye for not making it over god damn pull ups. seriously got to t57 and got dropped to pcp and then to mrp 1 then to rsp and then home. 8/24/2009-12/17/2009 was my corps time. fucked thing is i would have been a good marine but you cant be a marine without pull ups. i still cant do more than 2. i want to come back so bad but damn pull ups are not a strong point. can do push ups and and crunches all day but cant do more then 2 pull ups. guess it just aint in the cards.

Back in the 40's they used to lay wire over a huge mud pit and they'd fire a mg.42 over the top of the wire and make the marines crawl under it, can remember a story from an old history teacher who knew a guy who stuck his head up and it took his head off in training, don't do that anymore lol
