Based on the highlights, the US really dominated the first half - at least in terms of chances created. Switzerland really came in strong in the second half though. Good tight game.

Lots of overreacting in the media towards this game i feel. Yes the US made lots of defensive errors and weren't a cohesive unit but need to give credit to the Swiss. They're a veteran team with many professionals. Xhaka, Shaqiri, Embolo, Schar, Zakaria, Sommer. The US is still incredibly young you see it with Mckennie being the Captain. Berhalter does need to tactical switch things up and learn from this game but one loss to a good Swiss team in a friendly doesn't mean time to panic.

USA played well. Obviously the younger generation have game, but need to develop a prowess on the area that they still don't have. They're making the same defensive errors, but they did played against a more seasoned Switzerland that has experience. Switzerland IS a solid team. People need to stop overreacting every game we tie or lose. It's who we played and how did we played that should be analyzed. A friendly is a friendly. Like those two times an inferior squad beat Netherlands and Germany on friendlies .

Obviously a lot of improvement needs to happen in terms of defending in transition, but considering it was Switzerland, the team has hardly played together and Pulisic and Adams were missing, no need to get too upset about this. What US soccer fans need to get away from is this mindset where if the US plays well and/or wins a friendly we dismiss it as “only a friendly,” but if we lose or don’t play well we hyperventilate. The US is still far from the top tier teams but will continue to improve and finally has a plethora of young highly talented players

3-4-3 or 3-5-2. Would rather see 3-5-2 with Puli and Weah up front. Good at pressing and still quality dribblers and can finish.. Hoppe and puli would be a GREAT duo and I’ve been saying this but nobody seems to agree. My main takeaway from this game is that our mentality is bad. Cannnon isn’t starter caliber. Gregg Is taking responsibility which is good. He’s also improving tactically. This team is on the rise and I’m loving it. If we don’t win nations league THEN there’s a problem..

Agreed. To much is put on attacking, that the defending is severely lacking. Need to develop or get younger and quicker defenders, specifically strong centerbacks. Also, we need wingbacks and a higher defensive line so there isn’t so much space. But, overall good game from team USA.

This habit of fullbacks ducking the ball has to end. It doesn't hurt much to take a shot into your body from ten yards away. If you do, you eliminate a possible goal. Not the best outing by any means, but I think we learned a lot about ourselves. Hopefully we can draw from this and improve going forward. Swiss are no joke and in form ready for a Euro, for us to be disappointed by a 2-1 loss in a friendly is a testament to how far we expect this squad to go. I'm not disappointed with the outcome as all 3 goals were deflection/trash goals. I am deeply concerned, however, that FIFA level officials miss routine calls on a regular basis. That was clearly ball to hand and is not a handball [certainly not a PK] at any level.

It's been lost on some people that this was only a friendly. We can take some things from this, but too many people, both fans and haters, are overreacting. The real games start Thursday with the Nations League. I wish Chris Richards was on the roster so we could change the formation to a 3-man defense. If only guys like you understood, I understand that losing to no-name Honduras with THIS team is a terrible, TERRIBLE look, almost as big of a humiliation as losing to Trinidad and not qualifying for the WC for one critical reason. This squad has good talent scattered across the starting XI. The 2017 squad only had teenage Pulisic (whom is forgiven), and washed players Dempsey & Howard. Honduras has to be taken seriously by the players and prove that we are right that they should not be a threat. The players can't allow themselves to lose to them. These big-name players would never live it down, fans like me, and literally EVERYONE watching around the world, wouldn't let them. This is more important than you think. I never let the 2017 team (except Pulisic) live it down even though they were bad, they just proved me to be correct that they sucked, I hate that Acosta is still on this team, he's bad and he was part of that team. I don't even care if the team plays like crap against Honduras, Just. Don't. Lose to them. They have to show balls and pride in who they are! We have upgraded, and the players have to prove it on the field, by sweeping away a non-threat.

Bad defending both ways; looked more like a Sunday morning scrimmage than a professional game at times. Overall though, the US left 2-3 goals out there in the first half, and another 1-2 in the second, so take that as a positive, regardless of how nonchalant the Swiss were defending. The passing, pressing, and possession was much more intentional than its been. Good game overall offensively, just need to put away good to great chances

Last nights match was horrible. We have these kids who believe they’re the best the country has to offer but they don’t wanna prove it against stronger opposition. I’ve seen this play out many times before. And who do you think is held most responsible? That’s right, the manager. Stop telling this guys they’re amazing because they aren’t yet. They’re good. Very good. But they don’t play like they have anything to prove. No motivation. No self awareness. And this is a huge year. If they come out and believe that because they are all young and in euro that Concacaf is just going to hand them the top 3 spots automatically for Qatar, then we need to get someone else in by the 4th match of qualifying.
