This is the show that I was fortunate enough to get to see. Three of my friends are right at the 1:42 minute mark. They pulled me off a helicopter and told me I had won a trip to the Bob Hope show.

LOVED watching his specials when they aired, back in the states. The jokes were corny, but there's something to be said for that. All those young faces, smiling and laughing. Can't stop thinking about how many did not come home. Thanks for the memories. :-)

Jokes corny!?? If you are waiting for Smut which you prob. are - you will miss it. You are required to work you're brain a bit. That's the genius of genius humour. Bob had in spades. Bob's prolific talent for delivery of the ridiculous & absurd. Is classic humour. The Service people 'get it".

From 3:55, the pretty bruenette behind Bob becomes emotional and eventually seems on the verge of tears. Looking out at so many young faces having a laugh and enjoying a short respite from war. And knowing not all will survive the coming weeks and months must have been sad.

I was there then "up in I corp" just below the DMZ I had just returned from R&R from Tokyo. I did see Bob's USO show at Camp Zama Japan while on R&R Bob and the other performers put together a great show that I still remember to this day.

My turn was at TSN AB Saigon in 1969! Then as a Security Policeman I worked nearly 24 hours providing surveillance on the outskirts. Nowhere near the show! Along with many Security and LE troops! I'd do it again !
