Package left Houston TX to VA in 2 days, then took 3 days to get to belmar, NJ. Then to upstate PA and back to Edison Nj, then back to same site in PA and back to edison Nj. Then did that twice more for 4 trips total. Finally was delivered to me in cape may Nj, 19 days after it left Texas

October 2023, I watch as my packages are sent in crazy circuitous routes all over the US. Things that start almost next door are routed clear across the country. Held for days, then sent to just as nutty a location elsewhere. When I finally get the package, nothing is wrong with the label. Donahoe was by far the best. From around 2011 to around 2016 just after he left, the USPS was by far the fastest and most efficient I ever saw. I have better luck sending packages than I do with regular mail. If I send a package 300 miles it gets there on time. I got an appointment notice from my doctor that arrived 2 weeks after the appointment date. Our mail has to travel 70 miles to a sorting center to be sent back and delivered.

I spent 40 years in the post office, the last 25 years in mail processing. You have a lot of people who care about your mail and a lot of people who only care about collecting a paycheck. Then you have the thieves that are postal workers and contractors who work for USPS. If those people don't get greedy, a theft here or there, your package is chalked up to being lost in the postal system I'm sorry to say. Sometimes packages get destroyed in transit due to vehicle accidents where a lot of the mail has burned up and there's no way to tell where those packages were supposed to go. Just remember if you aren't getting your mail or packages, check with your neighbors to see if they are having the same problem. If the post office sees there is a high number of missing packages or mail they will look into it, or call the Postal Inspection Service.

I once sent some critical papers from my home in Pasadena to my new home outside Boston, Priority 2-day mail. I then tracked my package crossing the US, from coast to coast, SIX TIMES, 3X back and forth, before it was finally delivered, too late to be useful, a month later! Within the states they are terrific. As a seller I usually have around 1,000 packages a year and around 4 packages become lost. When asking for a search 3 are usually recovered (0.1% failure rate). HOWEVER, I halted using USPS for international orders and only use more expensive FedEx or UPS which is a deal breaker to many customers. Too many packages and their replacement orders went to the Chicago international distribution center and just disappeared (75% between November and February). When you send a customer 2 orders, one a replacement for the first, both lost with search requests, then have to refund the customer it's time to call it quits.

One of the Tampa postal workers is stealing mail. I had a loaded Vanilla Gift Card someone sent me from Tampa and when it finally arrived, the envelope and the card had been opened and used at one of the grocery stores in Tampa and glued back in the package and envelope. And when it finally arrived after 7 days and many phone calls later the balance was $0 on the card. I called and had them find out where the card was used at. Seems the mail man or mail lady is scamming people out of money like that. I sure hope they catch whoever it is!

They were lost or stolen after they hit Rodchester ny hub .a 4th one was shipped usps by mistake and guess what Rodchester hub and all ive gotten since is " in transit arriving late . you guys broke rules of the department of transportation about labeling packages. all of those packages should have been labeled with un3091 or un3481 for the batteries inside a new device. the priority packages went air because there were no labels. this is dangerous because batteries can explode in the air.

Most packages I get through the USPS have this problem. I placed a order in California. it made it pretty quick to the post office in Jacksonville Florida on Beaver St. . Then it goes to Orlando for a few days and comes back to The same post office. It is not here yet. Most of the time the package will bounce around town to 2 to 3 more post offices before it hits my post office and then gets delivered. Sometimes the package gets lost between post offices. If it were a straight shot or even a 2 post office trip my packages would be here in 2 to 3 days. No one I have spoken with has a clue how to fix this.

I’ve had packages enter my state and then jump 4 states away and then take the longest possible route going through even more states just to arrive back in my own state. Sometimes mail gets mixed up and sent to the wrong place or put in the wrong location. I knew a guy whose green card got put in his neighbor's mailbox by accident. The neighbor tossed it, not realizing what it was. Somehow this came to light when he was talking to the neighbor one day. Otherwise, it was basically "lost." I got a package to my address that wasn't for me (had my address but a different name--not an old tenant either)--no idea at the time how to find the intended recipient. For them, it was surely "lost." I heard a story of some mail that fell behind a counter or something for a very long time and were actually delivered when eventually found, but up until then they would be "lost." While some is surely stolen, sometimes right out of mailboxes like a family member of mine, there are plenty of opportunities for mail to get lost temporarily or permanently. We had over $250 in gift cards sent to family and friends stolen out of the mail dropped off at our local post office. They also destroyed the Christmas and birthday cards that were used to send the gift cards. Our family thought we were crazy asking if they got the cards. As someone who works as mail Carrier I always advice people on my route to never ever send gift cards or cash through the postal service unless it's necessary. Sad but there are so many thieves in within the postal service. Use UPS if your sending anything very valuable. Or pay priority mail so that you have insurance atleast.

Never drop off via the instore drop off box or any other dropoff box. I did that and it never got acceptance scanned. Nothing I can do now since they "never got it". Always get a receipt when dropping it off.

I always have problems with the usps currently I send 2 copy’s of the same important curt papers for my that cost me $60 an they lost both of them one I paid $31 to mail over night an it just ended up at the post office an the other I paid $8 an it never left the post office I dropped off to An on top of everything I got a scam text telling me my address was incorrect an to put in my credit or debit for .30 cents re-deliver fee an I almost fall for it I even ask a post office employee about the message an my mail an they couldn’t help me or say anything if it’s legit or not this is insane like wtf is going on ! ?

My local post office seldom answers the phone. The one time they do, I've been placed on hold for 15+ MF minutes!

The Post Office uses detectors that can tell why you are using a tracker so they deliver those packages as quick as possible. Packages without a tracker take the longer route (usually to a employees house so they can test the goods first) before reaching its final destination.

I’ll probably never buy anything online anymore unless I absolutely have to. USPS has delayed delivery to most of my packages, some packages were THROWN AWAY without any explanation as to why, and many were sent to wrong addresses. You can’t call them because you can’t reach a human being. And postal workers won’t give you a straight answer as to where your package is. It’s very inconsistent and it causes me so much anxiety and frustration whenever I order something. It’s just best to go to a brick-and-mortar store to buy it and take it home yourself, considering that the item you’re looking for is available where you live.

California to Jacksonville Florida …..your package wonders around Jacksonville for 3 days after it gets to Jacksonville…..yes it’s true arrives early then wonders around till it’s late…why ?

My packages get processed in NH then even though tracking will say delivery the next day the package will get sent to Maine or Pennsylvania or God knows where instead of Vermont. It will stay say they are on time even though they are in a different state and clearly were put on the wrong truck. From there tracking will just say the packing is late but on it's way no matter how many days it actually takes to make it here. They usually do arrive eventually. I never ship USPS unless there's no other option. Priority mail used to be great but not for years now.

I can't remember the last time a USPS package actually arrived on the expected delivery date. Whenever I check the tracking now I just 1 to 2 days to it.

Meanwhile, Sir, when it's rain/snow , USPS is outside delivering your mail, when your house is burning down or your child is abduct, or your elders mother fails and need help, your usps stupid mailman calls the police to safe it. USPS saved so many lives and made so many people happy, besides delivering a stupid paper that it end up in trash anyway. USPS is an extended eye of police and firefighters. I used to hate them, I tracked my ex mailman, he was the worst, my parcels were delivered in purpose to neighbors, I used to call them weekly to report a mistake, until two years ago when I needed a job, and they hired me This is by far the hardest job, besides taxi/limo driver that I've ever done. I am far away from declaring that I love my job. Don't ever underestimate the potential of the stupid mailman. One day he can save your day or your life. Count on it.

My package was within 80 miles of my house but was sent to across the country to Washington, DC ...? Way out of the way when I could have picked it up myself... but.... no one answers the phone, the automated phone system is nothing more than a black hole that runs you in circles without any resolution.
