I know him . Everybody who knows him personally knows that his excuse not knowing USPSA rules is BS. Big BS. He had issues with his RO class before . But when Money talks everything is possible . Have no other explanation on his current position .

I like that a board member's best idea, was to claim he didnt know the rules... of the org he chairs🤌🤌. Thats the mark of a well oiled machine.

I’ve been shooting USPSA casually for a couple years and seriously for about a year now. Once I started shooting level 2/3 matches, and especially assisting as a RO did I see people’s real colors start to show. Watching grown men loose their minds and act like spoiled children over a game is amazing to me. It’s just a game at the end of the day. Not a life or death situation. The one thing I find interesting is the fact they keep the “no video review” rule on the books for these high level matches. If an RO makes a bad call like a DQ for 180 violation let’s say, and video can clearly show they were wrong, I don’t see an issue with using the video to overrule the RO. Instant replay is used by referees in other sports. I get that it will take time, but just have the match director do it and only allow it at level 3 matches. Idk that’s just like my opinion, man

To be fair, sponsorships, income, and reputation are often on the line when it comes to a shooter’s performance at bigger matches. I’m not excusing tantrums by any means (though I find it amusing) but for some shooters, “the game” is very much, what some would argue, “life or death”.

@@Micah275 I mean sure it’s a full time job for some people, but very few. I guess I just have a different perspective. While I am sponsored it’s definitely not a career. But one can dream 😂

Not sure how different IPSC is but you definitely have to get RM approval to change gear, especially your gun. 99% of the time its fine, your main gun has some problem thats not easily or quickly repairable and any reasonable RM will allow you to use a backup or borrow a competitors gun provided its similar to yours. But to change without telling anyone is a huge no-no. I was wearing baseball cleats my last match because the ground was wet and wanted to change to my runners for a course on a concrete pad and wasnt allowed actually. Apparently footwear is considered "competitors equipment" and yet somehow knee pads arent and we can take them on or off whenever we want

So how about a basic shooter skill level digital card. Setup 1 - many stages. Verify stage is setup uniformly with app. Let them score off a mobile app. Pay if they wanna rank themselves against their local geo, national, by pistol, handed news, etc.

I'm not even a member of USPSA and I know that's not allowed. I've looked into some of the rules from the book and as a person who has never been a member the excuse of ignorance as a board member is baffling and inexcusable. The rules are very clear and a board member should be setting the example, not trying to make excuses of why they think they can break the rules. Good on the RO for upholding the rules regardless of who is breaking them.
