I want to first start by saying I love you work , the videos you make are amazing. I'm curious to no why you put filler blocks in between the bulkheads. I noticed when you were flipping through the instructions, it didn't show any filler blocks. I guess that's for nailing the planking. Keep up the great work. PLEAZE ,it's amazing

This is Naviboard style. When part of the ship is not planked and the frame is visible. So the deck is partially open to see the interior inside. Sometimes masts were installed in this style but without sails...

Yes, it's my idea to complete this kit by installing a masts. Because it really is just perfect that it can only be supplemented!

This kit looks like the second issue of a ship based on Chuck Passaro plans and instructions. I built the frigate Syren from Model Shipways, which I believe was the first kit to include the great detailed instruction manual. I’d built several MS kits before but Syren was the most detailed and challenging I’d attempted. The Confederacy looks like a step up in terms of amount of photo etch brass, etc but the price of the kit, at about $650.00 is a lot more than other MS kits, and there’s no masts and rigging either. I’m curious why you chose this project.

It is the same only in different measuring units. Imperial: 1/16"=1' Metric: 1:64

Its biggest difficulty is in size - you need a large table for work...

@@OlhaBatchvarov cool, I'm not too familiar with model boats but I'm in the process of building one and noticed the instructions are very unclear and jagged. Which brought me to the conclusion that I guess it's set that way to give the individual the ability to add there own touch to it, as suppose to a strict part of instructions as I thought it initially was. For example there are tons of boats in history that don't actually have a blueprint architectural replica explaining the design, yet they sell model ships that claim that it's a replica of the historical boat. My ideas of that is, items that take time put together that are wood like model ships that look fancy on the cover of the box it comes in and are pricey ....are suppose to come with strict instructions for the individual who is making it, have a part of history that's accurate and can be explained in a show case what the model ship was like back in those days. Historically correct. It might be a hobby but its suppose to be historically correct for the experience to have some authenticity and not just look like you're doing it for fun.

@@Iwasrapedandbrainwashed Not all kits have such detailed instructions as this frigate. The bulk of the kits are as simplified as possible so that even a schoolboy can build the ship. Therefore, if you want to detail your model and make a more historically accurate copy of the ship, then you need to find the literature that corresponds to the type of your ship, period, etc...

I use joiner's glues for gluing the hull. For example PVA which becomes transparent after drying, and that yellow glue is Titebond II - it is steady against change of humidity of air but has bright yellow color after drying!
