One use of the Disco that isn't as frequently discussed is a base tether. When you're a big dog in your alliance trying to boost folks through quite a few bigger armadas (especially in Exchange space), sometimes folks get excited and get itchy on the launch trigger your repair opportunities could be few and far between! Keeping your disco at your base can provide a quick snap back to base to speed through repairs and warp back out normally with enough time to stay inside of the shorter timers and save your eager buddies from unnecessary suicides!

Summon feature has helped me immensely with armadas, especially the eclipse armada leaderboard, being able to recall, repair, and get back to the next armada in a matter of seconds was definitely a help

Base in Leone, do armada, if low on HP suicide into hostile, repair and join armada. No need for summoning. Summoning in that case i only useful if someone destroys you while the timer goes down.

My favourite use for Disco at lower levels was Latinum Opc hunting. Before D'vor upgrades Disco was a massive boost to the ability to collect Lat. You can jump system to system and cover the galaxy in no time.

Loved the intro. My discovery is also T8 but don't want to spend anymore on it as it takes away from tiering up the Enterprise. I dont have summoning researched, so been saving up for that.

I hear everywhere that the summon ability is quite useful, but I haven't been able to get myself to research it yet. It's sooooo expensive on gas, especially with that hungry Enterprise sitting in dock. Maybe I'll get it soon, working on territory efficiency now that, thanks to the Meridian, I finally can. That thing is a game-changer, one of the best additions to date.

Summoning is like crack lol.. once you get your discovery warp range research higher, you can insta travel and summon in dark space to mine or rep farm. It saves on relo tokens

Did Rev mention the officer badges? For me the Discovery refining is the place where I get the currency to from time to time be able to buy a badge to upgrade an officer. But I do find that even at T9 you get too little so that it takes a long while to have enough for a single badge

At level 29 I don't have summoning just yet. My favorite use is to look for nodes I want to mine. When I see a vacant one I jump the Discovery there to hold the node until a miner can get there.

A couple things not talked about. Using TOS Scotty w/tos chekov and cadet Scotty for max warp range. It will cost more to summon but gets you deep into space. Ways to source myc. I personally like doing the Klingon burial ship armadas.

My Discovery is invaluable. I maxed mine and it's taxi capabilities is a great feature for summoning Miners and Stella, and warships for TC.

Agree with all three points raised however I would add that the anomalous phenomena weekly event doesn't payout enough, I'm frequently out of refinery tokens by Wednesday of every week they really need to increase the payout for that event

Wish it wasn't so pricey, but yes super useful with summoning. I actually use it if my ship is far out mining or something while waiting for a shield to fail pre-raid that way if they're home I don't have to stop what I'm doing and spend all that time traveling.

I just got the Discovery a week ago. I just wanted it just for the the collection. Didn't use it for anything since it is still pretty weak and was hoping it gets better as it tiers up but doesn't look like it.

Disco Trit costs to Upgrade are obscene. I also never put anyone underbridge as no other use but summoning, IMHO. Another great use is to use Disco to Pull warships from OPC hunting when you need a rapid exit, or if you are being chased by much larger ship and just before they hit you, Summon back.... Ive had many opponent, say to me, ""DANG....nce move""

I love using Discovery in tc battles. Drop a speed crew into it (usually Pan) and fly it up to a node and port in my Sarcophagus to bring the pain. I'm 20 bps away from my 2nd Sarcophagus, and then I'll really be able to fuck shit up.

I just took my Disco to T9 but I am not getting the four 1-day speedups as a reward in the discovery refinery as you indicated in the video. Any idea why? Did Scopely change the rewards for refinery? Now that we have TOS and TNG, all those officers should go with the Discovery ones in a new Box, with their own recruit tokens (same as the Ultras and Premiums). The discovery box should dissapear and mantain the Anomalus Phenomena weekly event to get the Discovery tokens to get the Spore drive components and the other sutff (speed ups, officer and ship xp), to use in the refinery.

One year in, still don't have summoning yet. The ship costs HUGE tritanium to upgrade. The research costs gas and spore drive components that take time to acquire, too. I think I'm still a couple months away.

I love my disco, managed to work in summoning which costs a lot and then carry on working on the upgrades, it does use a lot of titanium each component to lvl up, but I’ve but being tier 8 now, it does costs me less to summon with crew Rev used. I know once it’s fully tiered up, I’ll reach deep space places but I’m only 33 so I’m a baby lol 😂… great ship and worth it in my opinion.

Yes, it really does open up your map. You will be limited a little bit until you can boost your ops. My disco is maxed and has current warp range of 75. I have to get R &D to 43 before I can do the next warp range research. As you max Rare Stamets, and Hugh Culber you jump costs will go down quite a bit. Its awesome at 33 yours is t8 and can summon, your doing well!! Keep up the great work!!

The Sunday rewards should be better. If you max the event you can only do 4 max pulls a week and have to wait until the following event Sunday. At least given enough for the full week.

Rev, do you know why both of the multiple pull options are cheaper per pull than the single pull option in the Discovery tab of the refinery? That's completely opposite of how everything else ever in the history of Scopely works. The only explanation I can come up with is that the couple of extra Discovery refinery tokens you get from Anomalous Phenomena add up over time to an additional pull, and they wanted to delay how often you can get that.

Ive maxed my Disco out 496K strength is a bit meh with stamets culber at 20% full synergy ive got my summoning cost down to 765 mycelium which isnt bad but 18k doesn't last long. Range on the disco is 50 with all level 37 research done but can get 62 or should i say anyone can add 12 onto your range using TOS Scotty plus one side synergy and cad scotty at the expense of mycelium efficiency. Bigger greenhouse please Scopely! though as they keep selling us mycelium packs in the store i can see their reluctance to give us any extra for free.

I don't think the high resources required to upgrade it is worth it at the moment. That being said, I'm 27 and not summoning with a tier 7 Discovery. Right now it costs 35 mil to 90 mil tritanium to upgrade a component.

We need a refit for discovery to match the upgrades on the TV series.. then the ship could be more powerful after going many years into the future. It is a taxi as i have seen. But in a ship event store i rather get the ferengi Dvoir for lat mining or Borg Vidor. If your lower i would get jellyfish for lv12 to 14 and those lv17 to 19 get the Northstar. But yes you cant buy the Discovery in $ store and hell its been too long since the last Ship store event. Ive been playing is October of 20 and seen only 2 of them.
