I’ve noticed you tend to expose the side with the lowest shields a lot. Most of that damage came from hits to the aft.

Retro I’d say slightly more power to the shields or alternatively you could de power the phasers a wee bit then more power the shields

Exclesior is way overpowered. In DS9 they were smashed by the Maquis but yet the Maquis wouldn't dare take on a Galaxy Class.

The Standard Excelsior class had a Strength index rating of 478 while the Enterprise D was rated at 1355.

One of the closest fights I've seen here, and one that could easily have turned with any sort of bad luck. If you'd lost either set of torpedo launchers the second Excelsior almost certainly would have had enough time to finish you off. Even with the phasers you got lucky and didn't lose any till almost the very end when you finally lost the port rear duo. Losing a few more of those, or losing them significantly earlier could easily have done you as well. It was fun to watch a fight where we genuinely couldn't tell who was going to win until the very end though. Often times it's fairly clear early on which side will come out on top.

Either these Excelsiors are a little too tough or the Galaxy is a bit too weak in the mod. But then again I'm a massive Galaxy fan ;)

That's more what I'd expect from a Galaxy class. In universe, the Galaxy would have the tactical systems to keep both Excelsiors busy; multi-target torpedoes and what have you. It took a beating, but came out on top.

@@keyboardt8276 I did my own test, after watching this vid, using BC Remastered. Employing secondary targeting, I was able to dispatch both Excelsiors whilst taking on far less damage. I then tried it against 3 Excelsiors and very nearly beat them. Came down to one lucky shot from the last ship when we were both down on hull integrity. Unsurprisingly, a Sovereign rips through them like they're not there.

Hahaha, it sure is...the Excelsior class wasn't retired for decades. Like the Constitution, it was somewhat built for war. The boys at Jupiter station aren't going to be happy 🤣 Edit: One last comment: (Scotty's voice) Excelsior?!? Why on earth would you want that bucket of bolts? 😄. I think that was right after Admiral Kirk got reduced to Captain and got the Enterprise A. If Kirk hadn't saved the world I think Bones was right...they'd be mining borite the rest of their lives 😆

I hate how people tend to underestimate Galaxy class - even authors of this game/mod. Sure, it's not a warship, it's multi-task vessel but it's very formidable in it's own right. Only writers who were either incompetent or down right hatful towards Galaxy class give this ship a idiot ball on few occasions, that's I suspect why it had bad reputation - this is like with Worf getting his ass handled to him on few occasions, which unfairly damaged his reputation. Sorry, but the only thing I like about this fight is that mode enable you to fire photon torpedoes in dispersal pattern Sierra when multiple torpedoes are fired simultaneously but other than that... It seems that Enterpririse D could fired only one phaser bank at the time... WHY? In their first fight against the Borg in "The best of both worlds" crew of Ent-D were able to fire three separate phaser beams and multiple torpedoes at the same time - here this is impossible... Even better display of multiple phaser banks being fired can be seen in "Conundrum" - six phasers shot being fired in rapid succession, almost all of them come from different phasers banks under saucers section - nothing like this can be seen here...And that's only few phasers banks this ship have. Additionally Enterprise D is capable of firing 12 photon torpedoes in rapid succession - look at "Half-a life". But nothing like this can be seen here... Sure, I don't expect that this game will include saucer separation maneuver or weaponizing main deflector - which was used by Enterprise D on few separate occasions - but why is this version of Galaxy class move like pregnant cow in a mudslide? 😂Why does it not move as fast and graceful like it did on many occasions in the show? It's space; size and weight are meaningless there! Remember "Relics" - when Enterprise D was escaping Dyson sphere and even though it's main engine were operating only on 60% of power it managed to reach door of the Sphere in 1 minute and 30 seconds and then immediately it rotate to fit trough closing gate? Or remember "Pegasus" when Enterprise D almost effortlessly maneuver trough asteroid field and then fly inside one of the asteroids? Not to mention what happened in finale of third season of Picard... Enterprise D successfully fought off Galor class warship in "The Wounded", even though Cardassian vessel ambushed it and fired at it when Enterprise had lowered shields... NCC 1701-D blasted huge holes in Borg cube and even disable it for a while in "Q who"... But you wouldn't know it watching this video because this version of Picard's Enterprise have less than half of fire power seen in the show and NONE of maneuverability of Galaxy class... That's long winded way of saying: Enterprise D and Galaxy class in general is underrated! 🖖
