I have been to the USS Yorktown that is featured in this episode. It's still around today is a floating Museum and I visited it as a kid and I got to spend the night there. It's one of a couple ships in a submarine docked in a port in North Carolina. If you can make a trip out there I recommend it. Also you should check out the 10 episode series World War II in HD you can find it on KZbin

The reason they didn't occupy it it wasn't in line with the hopping campaign but the airplanes could reach out and still hit our ships so they needed to neutralize it rather than take it and there is a patent 360 that does the European theater

when the narrator talks about the lack of experience with the Zero pilots. Japan never used it's experienced pilots to train the newer pilots. The Americans would cycle out pilots that had flown in battle and make them instructors back in the states.. The carrier USS Intrepid that was damaged by the torpedo is a museum in New York

You need to check out some of the stuff from Drachinifel. He is a naval history KZbinr. He has the best naval history content in KZbin and can explain so much of the how and why behind ships and how they work.
