Just Found your Channel, I particularly like the humour. My first exposure to the Navy was finding my Fathers photo album seeing the planes crash on CV's he was a plank owner on USS Randolph CV15 WW2 era. Me I joined the USMC, while Stationed at Camp Lejeune, I met and married a FN who was stationed on the ADRM2, going to visit her I got lots of exposure to Bubble Heads, I was taken in as a Token Marine on USS Narwall and a few 688's that were in the well of Alamogordo, I would have a rack and Chow on the boats when I was in Charleston, beat sleeping in my car. I got orders to 29 Palms CA, and broke my back in Yuma, sent to Sandiago Naval Naval Hospital, My Roommate was a 2nd Class on a boat I do not know his rate. We went out on Libo and he got om on the Boat that was in the Well Deck of the ADRM5 USS ARCO, apparently the boat was dived into the bottom outside of SD, and filming of Hunt For Red October had just finished up filming on Arco. Got to thou the boat the COB invited me into a space I looked in the space and told him I did not have clearance to enter an unsanatized space he said "What Could a DUMB Marine know?, and told me to go in" I saw the equipment and asked if we were listing to shrimp fucking and whales, the Sonarman looked at the COB and said Dumb Marine? we all had a good laugh. I did Military Construction for ten years later in life and spent 5 years building at Portsmouth NSY in Kittery, and was there when the Miami was the cookout, USS Pasadena was heading out and almost capsized one of the support tugs. I was also at PNSY when the USS Virginia needed to have some fishing gear removed from the propulsor. good Memories
