Guy flying the float plane should get a medal 🥇🥇🥇. He hit that wave super hard. But saved lives. Great job. I know the men can't hear me but thank you for what the sub men (all) !

Interesting commentary. I never knew why they hung an arm over the handle of the periscope. Makes sense.

@2:54 You got to hand it to the crew for that dark humor of posting a sign on the tower, "Is this trip necessary". Make sure you tape over the subs headlights and rotate the tires regular as well! Also, be sure to have your "A" card posted clearly.

Nicely done Tang and Lt Burns.

A faulty torpedo is why the crew of the Tang could not be there.

I have many times wondered why the manufactures of faulty military equipment were not held accountable.
@WanderingMike4 жыл бұрын
@@Fred-xh9ls Because those torpedos were made by the US Navy which was part of the problem. Hard to be objective when evaluating your own stuff.
@stargazer57843 ай бұрын
@@WanderingMikeIt was actually the Bureau of Ordinance that made those pieces of junk, and they basically operated independently from the rest of the military. They had their own command structure and everything. Admiral King eventually found out about them covering up what was going on and threatened the officer in charge at BuOrd with physical violence if he didn't correct the problem.

According to "Clear The Bridge" O'Kane didn't call Lt. Murray Frazee ( Murray). He was called (Frazz) On another note. 22 extra set of lungs breathing valuable O2 if they came under depth charge attack .

Did I see a sign that said, “Is this trip necessary”? Don’t understand. Of course it was.

Out of a little over 300 subs the United States had operating in the Pacific during WW2, over 50 never returned. Although the submariners were all volunteers, they also knew that there was a good chance that they could die on every patrol. Those guys had alot of testicular fortitude, but the sign meant what it said.

Man, O'Kane was a hell of an actor. The guys here are certainly war heroes, but they seem to be having a contest to see who can be the worst actor of all time.
