It was the time when my country was shamelessly robbed by the Soviets and their local servants. A time of constant threat of war and certain poverty. A time when a funny political joke could cost you life, freedom or career.

​@@carrotbg Very funny, when Soviets literally granted to you everything was build in your country. Jobs, Healthcare, state mandated housing. You yet compare eastern Europe with western, but western Europe had all wealth of their colonies and had supported budget from USA called Marshall plan. GDR had faster growing economy than FDR than in any point in history. West Germany was already economically dominant than east before WWII, that's where Ruhr and most of the industry was located in. Soviet Union has diminished the role of the capital in people's life and actually made millions rise from poverty. It rebuild itself in 7 years (a lot of damage was still unfixable, such as 17 million civilians dead) and also rebuild eastern Bloc creating new armies, new industries and ensuring stable economic growth. East was poor, west was rich. USSR got poor side and USA got wealthy.

This is not a CPSU congress. There is no CPSU congress in 1975 (the previous congress was in 1971, and the next one was in 1976). The number "XXX" and the Order of Victory on the stage suggest that this must have been a meeting to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1945 victory over the Nazi and fascists.
