It looks built well. The modular shelving system is nice. But to me the no-wall toilet is definitely a deal breaker. Shower is rather OK without glass walls but toilet does need proper walls to keep minimum dignity as a human.

Yea, I live in a small studio apartment in Australia (small for here, at least) and watching this channel has been really making me appreciate my apartment! It's over 3x as big and only 1.5x more expensive as this one with a proper bathroom (walls and a door) which also fits the washing machine. Sometimes the other room feels cramped as it's a combined kitchen/living/sleeping space but compared to this, I'm living in a palace! 😂

This is a nightmare. 😮 Everything is awful, no bright window, the colour of the walls, the shelves at the walls, the toilet in the middle of the room without wall, everything. It is like a big prison cell. I only would rent it when I had no other choice but I think I would prefer to live in an internet café. 😅 There you often have a small breakfast and other options to eat and drink and you have a much nicer atmosphere.

Hmm. The toilet and the shower room can be blocked from view by strategically placing a simple folding standing Japanese screen made up of thatched bamboo. I like the second position of the bed as it provides more walkable space within the room. The room will work for someone who does not want to share a toilet down the hall and probably has a tummy problem 😀 another awesome vdo ❤❤❤ love the food👌👌

While there is a curtain rail to privatize the toilet, it is still center stage. Many bathrooms feel cramped, but this one wouldn’t. 🤣 It feels very cold from the camera with the grey concrete walls. The layout is better than some, but the current apartment you are in seems cozy.

I would replace the washer machine with a taller fridge with little freezer. On top of it I would put a little electrical oven. The cloths can be washed on those public machines with coins. -- in a good fridge one can store fruits, vegetables, drinks and other foods - to cook at home and have drinks saves a lot of money.

This is truly an interesting space. The shelves on the west wall definitely need to be taken down in favor of placing a desk there. Can see a bed being placed down in line with the window. Maybe it'll need to be a futon but in this very rigid concrete style might not be very suitable. The angled ceiling/wall really sucks and limits that corner. Not much else to be done nor does much else need to be done anyways. No kitchen so no need for it. Can probably get good enough support for personal effects with the shelving space and possibly a side table to the left of the bed. A funny thing about the liner set for the curtains is that they should be covering the entirety of the washroom area but don't cover the shower. Super strange haha. That said, you probably cannot get much done here with two people so it's not bad.

Not better than your current apt. However, better than that one you showed where you opened the front door to stare at toilet. At least this one has toilet off to side & a curtain overhead, and a half wall or folding screen could shield your view of it from living space. If the sink were at least square & deep it could work. One plus is the shelves are adjustable (we had this in a room where I grew up and it made a room much more flexible). It wasn’t clear if a bed could fit in that space, perhaps some sort of modular furniture where the bed folds out of way.

Good morning, Usui. This apartment is not bad, considering that it also has a bathroom without walls, and it seems incredible that it is a little bigger than your current apartment. I'm not convinced about the access, the narrow staircase that you had to walk to get to the apartment, but it's true that I don't know what the access to your current apartment is like either. That triangular space, obviously because there is a staircase on the outskirts, greatly reduces the living space. And the curious thing is that the finish of the section where the staircase is, is much better than that of the rest of the apartment. Aesthetically it takes a lot away from it, to my taste. The second location of the bed seems to me the most appropriate and the one that makes the most of the space. Of the three apartments that you have visited so far, much to my regret, I would say that the first is the best, the one with the bed on the upper floors, despite the issue of the stairs. The others, I agree with you, bathroom without walls... it doesn't attract. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

I completely agree with you, a bathroom needs to be a separate room. Otherwise, you feel like you are living, sleeping, and eating in the bathroom. And if you have a friend over, who wants to use the toilet then, even with a curtain? 😬 Also, not sure I like this version of “industrial” décor. It just looks like they couldn’t be bothered to put up drywall.

In the long shot of Spider-Man in the shower room, your Spider-Man looks like a Buddha. I think that you would have to go with a loft type situation in this area. In fact, if I were going to be doing it, I would purchase some. scaffolding. They come in many different configurations. You can take them apart and put them together different ways that we could have a different apartment every year in a very small area. This apartment is cute. Also, there is a problem with it, though it has too many sharp, pointy angles, pointing all over the place. There’s no place to escape from them I will take a bit of work to make it comfortable just from the pointy angles.

Am noting smart honesty of this space and it's choices in detailing . Flush shelving rails are very thoughtful and the area of heavy plate glass is superb . A space ideally occupied by the sort of people who decided upon it's details . Curtain for biff area seems practical to me ( add spray bottle of water and Oregano oil ) . Adding white black and bleached natural canvas bed cover and bolsters / cushions and items of bleached aged wood seems a thought . A space that can be Made to work for some .

I’m very surprised for Japan standards that apartment looks half finished and didn’t have the decency of even building a kitchen or creating privacy for a toilet. I’m sure if this was Showa era apartment it would not be like this. I’m absolutely surprised. 😮 but then I’m sure someone who doesn’t cook and only needs a crash pad during the week is substantial enough. 3:01

They should've at least put sliding door to separate the bathroom and toilet. It looks like a big bathroom with extra space.. however, knowing the working japanese class, renting the space for $487.89 is okay. It is just my opinion and preference, if I were to live in a certain lifestyle like, I'm pretty much a minimalist, I only own things that I need and very busy with work and it benefits me to clean less in a small open space. I think, I'll manage to live and somehow make it an enjoyable stay. But, if there are other apartment under or within the price range of $500 that is better than this one, I'll definitely move haha 😂 anyway, thank you for always showing us different micro apartment.
