It's literally in the rules that it has to be under a minimum length. Fury will have to trim it, per the rules of boxing. Otherwise, the belts will be removed. It's really not a debate or an opinion. It's a factual law of the sport. I fully expect he was always planning on shaving it. He's simply hiding his jawline, so Usyk can't gauge his real weight - the same reason he wore 4 layers of clothes at the weigh-in. Very naive, but that is Fury.

@@Tommy-pz2yc it's not at all, I had to shave mine for my last fight. It's 10cm in UK rules, and discretionary in WBC rules. Usyk holds the WBC title so its at his discretion. Fury has no say. Fury's beard also exceeds 10cm currently, which means his BBBoC licence will be revoked if he doesn't trim. He's playing all these games to desperately try and get in Usyks head, in addition to him hating that he's the B-side.

A huge thick beard also disguises facial injury, & it prevents judges & Compubox from accurately assessing what really connects & what narrowly misses on the chin. However small & seemingly insignificant these things are, if the fight is decided on a razor blade, unlike the clear win it was last time, it could swing things in Fury's favour. Especially given the enormous pro Fury bias that has permeated the event.
