Hi Lynette, Thanks for your videos they’re super informative. My daughter just got offered the CAP program and she’s wondering if she can attend any other University besides the ones offered on the UT website and she’s able to qualified to any scholarships freshmen year and when she transfers to UT.
@LynetteAdkins5 жыл бұрын
@@gic1839 Hi congrats! For the CAP program, she can only go to a UT system school. For scholarships, UT will not likely offer any scholarships to her but she can still apply to external ones and complete the FAFSA to receive other forms of financial aid from UT!

I got capped from UT McCombs. Going to appeal but getting ready to attend UH’s business school and hopefully transfer. But I was looking at McComb’s external transfer statistics and it is HIGHLY selective. Looks like I’m never gonna go to UT😔 and I live in Austin too :(

CAP right now feels like my only chance at going to college. I'm really worried it's going to hurt in the long run, because I'm a film major, and I don't know if it'll help me with that. The only UT school I can go to doesn't have a film major course. Reading through the CAP requirements makes me feel like I'm being punished.

I’m not trying to be rude but why are you going to college in Texas for film? You don’t need a degree to be a screen writer, director, or producer. Why pay $40-$100k for a degree that holds no weight. That’s honestly a terrible financial decision. You’d be better off moving to LA or New York and meeting people to network and make films with there. Plus why stress yourself out with CAP and getting into UT? I can see if you had a full ride but UT is super hard both to get into and graduate from, a film degree holds no value other than being on campus and meeting people that’s it. Just trying to help.

Does EVERYONE get offered CAP? Did anyone actually get rejected?
@GeneralDerpington4 жыл бұрын
So basically from what I know, CAP isn’t offered to everyone who’s rejected. Apparently if they meet some sort of requirement they are offered CAP instead of an actual rejection. Just found out I got capped for my decision, but I honestly thought I was going to get rejected, so I’m hyped. Anyways, just wanna wish you good luck! 👍

@perlas86803 жыл бұрын
I’m in the same place. I heard it’s better to transfer than cap, as it’s very competitive and they’re basically set on who they accepted as their freshmen. But it’s not impossible.I’m planning to try nursing and if it works out I am staying in my program. If I change my plans, then I will accept the liberal arts plan.

Hi! I recently just accepted into the PACE program and I have a question (anyone can answer) if I do PACE can my AP and Dual Credits still be transferred or will I have to retake those classes ?
@aydencorrea53265 жыл бұрын
I recently got accepted into the PACE program! Which was the one UT class that you took your freshman year? Is the one UT class, that you take each semester, the same for all PACE students? P.S. Thank you for your informational videos. It really relieved so much unnecessary stress and anxiety while I was waiting for my decision. I thought of you when I got accepted, and it’s reassuring to see someone be successful after this program :)
@LynetteAdkins5 жыл бұрын
Congrats!! That is so awesome, I'm so glad the vids could help! The classes you'll be taking are a UGS (a class every freshman at UT takes about a random topic of your choosing), and then Spring semester you can take whatever. So no, it's not the same for all PACE students. You will be in an additional class with all of the PACE students though for both semesters, which is basically a weekly meeting with the PACE advisor. Hope that makes sense!

How would CAP work for a student going in with 61 dual credit college hours?
@LynetteAdkins5 жыл бұрын
Sal Valerio You would probably take classes that you need for your desired major during your year at CAP. You can log your credits before you start your first year. Your advisor will definitely help walk you through it and make sure your credits show up in the system!
