Didn’t love Utah’s rush defense against SUU last week. I know the defense held SUU to a shutout, but early on it was giving up a bunch of yards to the RBs and QB. I realize Pepa and Tafuna were out and Pepa will be back against Baylor, but that rushing defense has got to be better and more gap sound versus Baylor, especially with a Baylor’s offensive RPO scheme and its mobile QB. Utah’s defense will really need to work on containment.

So trying to figure out Baylors Oline starting experience. Feels like they replaced a ton of production on the Oline. If that's the case, then hoping Utah gets 3-4 sacks on Finn leading to a few turnovers on bad throws while on the run.

Finn may have been in big environments, but he struggles on the road. His pass completion rate home vs road is 8% lower on the road. He struggles in second halves as well. That suggests once you adapt to him, he struggles. Add in learning a new offense against a top defense and I just think he is going to be limited to under 200 yards in the air. That really puts a ton of pressure on the Baylor run game. Thinking Utah 42-30 That said, I kinda hope Utah lays a dude of a game and just squeaks out a win on a last second FG 24-21 and that prevents them from getting complacent entering league play. That said you should never be complacent vs a top 25 team on the road in OSU.

JT I told you most of the best WR/ TE are basketball players. Randy Moss, Antonio Gates, Rice, Gonzales, Julius Peppers… The TD to Lohner was still thrown to low and too center. We have not seen his athleticism yet. He will be able to box out players and bully them. He will also be able to catch balls much higher in the air than last week. The ball was thrown far too low. Lohner just out muscled and boxed out SUU.

Interesting fact on the WR/TE guys who were basketball players. Agree Lohner's pass was too low and a little inside. That said, I can't wait for him to catch an alley oop slam dunk... I mean touchdown pass where the ball is thrown 10 feet in the air.

Last year, both teams were equally bad. This year, hoping both teams are equally good. Really excited to see these two defenses - Aranda calling the Defense for the Bears and the Utes’ NFL caliber front 7. Not an easy prediction, but my bet is Utah Offense shows up, lifting Utah to a 35 - 17 win.

If you think about it Lohner has spent the last 4 years piaying major basketball. I' think J.T. might be wrong on him. Here's a 6 ft 8 inch athlete that's used to catching basketballs in traffic , and jumping a lot. He has good hands, and who's going to out leap him at his height? The only problem is there are also 4 other very good tight ends. This is Utah's year if they keep healthy.

There is a difference between confident vs arrogant and condescending. Most but not all Utes fans are the latter two. I get it. Some Bears fans acted the same during the Briles wonder years and I wasn't any less disgusted by their arrogance. Utah has the better team and better program and the better home field advantage. The lack of home field respect was clearly shown on the no-call pi. Guarantee if the situation were reversed this year the Utes would benefit from the obvious pi. Vegas numbers on the spread are reasonable and it is to be expected that the final score is 38-21ish. Being a homer regarding predictions I have never, in almost 60 years of attending Bears football games, predicted a loss. Even if it would take an act of an unbelievable set of circumstances. Ie the ranked opponent turning the ball over nine times, I won't throw in the towel pregame. So my predicted outcome is the Bears winning 31-30 in an overtime thriller. Good luck to both teams and hopefully there are zero injuries to either squad. As always SIC 'EM BEARS!!!

If Cam is off his game and has 2 int, our RBs showed they will put the ball on the ground. 2 passing Ints and 2 fumbles, especially for pick 6 or short field could easily give Baylor 17 points. Throw in your solid WR group and I could see a Utah loss in that scenario. But it will take a little luck for sure. I'm not sold on my Utes yet. I think they looks great week 1, but I am not sure I saw enough true difference makers to be confident in them winning the Big12. Rising and Kuithe on offense, with everyone else still very questionable including the Oline. Tanuvasa up front on the DL. But after that who are our havoc players who consistently make the big play that kills drives with negative yard plays and INTs? I think OSU has as good if not better shot right now to win the Big12. Their schedule is also pretty soft and they looked really potent on offense. Not having to play Arizona and Kansas and Utah at home (who might be the 4 top teams) is very favorable.
