I went out and test road my first recumbent trike today. It was a Catrike trail. Omg, what a blast! I felt like a kid zipping around on a go kart, lol. As for comfort, there is no comparison between a two wheeler and recumbent trike. This thing was infinitely more comfortable, and it's not even remotely close. You're in a completely neutral position while riding. If I would've known all this before I would've gotten one lot sooner. The biggest problems are transporting them (if you have a standard car) and they are super expensive. If you have the money and you're on the fence, you definitely need to go test ride one. i'm pretty sure you'll make up your mind quickly. I also know there's a stigma that these bikes are for old people, but I was having so much fun I didn't even care.

This video was very informative about 20 vs 26 Catrike options. I have owned three Catrikes, ‘04 Road, ‘16 Road and ‘’13 Expedition. I enjoyed the Roads more due to exactly the reasons presented in the video. I ride mostly on hilly/curving paved trails. The Roads climbs and turns more easily than the Expedition. Results: I still own and ride the Roads but sold the Expedition. Now I understand why. Thanks

I'd like to see a comparison between the 559 and the Dumont both with 26 inch rear wheels & a Bafang motor.

I plan to go e-cat Bosch. I am about 350 lbs and 5"10". What model would you suggest? I have heard the Max is the best for larger riders. What do you think?

Definitely go for the Max! It is great work the eCat and for larger riders.

I like the responsiveness and quick acceleration of the trail better than the 559. What do you think is a long ride? Most of my riding will be under 25 miles. Also, I was thinking about getting the E assist. Would that make it easier to maintain speeds on the trail?

Thats a great video. I live in Manhattan NYC. Use light n motion front and rear and a flag naturally. My problem has been getting my CT Trail in and out of my apt door, into the elevator, down a couple steps, out the Front door. I’m considering a small Dolly as the Trail’s 2 small frame wheels are early useless. Any ideas or suggestions?

You could try removing all the wheels before transporting, that would make it smaller and easier to carry. If you did that , you would need to be careful with the front wheels, since they have rotors attached.
