Great detail breakdowns. Can't stop watching them. I like the variations of BJJ and wrestling , wish there was more MMA ground &pound though!

Very nice, Marcelo does it slightly different he will pass the hook leg all the way across and make a seat belt with his leg across his waste with the top of his foot on the opposite leg, then pogo stick on your knee like you are already doing so it lifts you up to his back. This way if you want you can release both grips move your body out perpendicular to him then walk back on your hands and use your foot and leg seat belt to lever him onto his side. Or finish the move with the choke as you demonstrated.

Coach, after the great details of a technique, would you mind taking a few seconds to show the move a few times in real time with no talking? Thanks for the awesome work!

When pulling the arm across the body for arm drag , I've found that extending your left hook a little towards his right knee which raises it from the floor a bit just for a second, stops him from having enough base to forcefully pull out his arm . Your thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes! Pressure definitely. Thank you Steve for your answer.

@Steve MacInnis I was talking more so pushing the leg as you're arm dragging across therefore reducing the amount of pressure he has on that knee. Would that work?

@@BarryFromEastenders this is simple genius and i hope i will remember it this evening to try it in class! Why havent i thought of this? the knee on the side the person is pulled towards is their base to create strength to pull against it. They will have a much weaker pull because their lower back extension is effectively taking out of the equation as it has nothing to work against. This is what you meant right? I know im 4 years late

@teachmegrappling I have minusus tears in both knees and can't get heel to butt. Over 10inches left when it starts to hurt. Is there any other guard game I should play? Tried this and it works when taking it easy but when doing it fast scooting the butt in then I tap myself 😁
@TeachMeGrappling
@TeachMeGrappling 5 жыл бұрын
You definitely shouldn’t scoot your butt in then! Sorry but we have to work with what we are given. Try using your hooks inside but you will need to always keep the distance healthy. You can butterfly sweep to the side instead of pulling your opponent on top of you. Feet on the knees and hips can also be good in combination. Good luck!

I think you are referring to middle of the tricep... good idea... like the coach said.... up high you get more control and towards the elbow you get more leverage... anything in between you get a spectrum of control and leverage depending on where you grab.
