🗣️ Gregg Henriques
Dr. Gregg Henriques is Professor of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University in the Combined Doctoral Program in Clinical and School Psychology. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vermont and did his post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a theoretical psychologist and has developed the “Unified Theory of Knowledge,” which is a consilient scientific humanistic worldview to unify psychology. He is the author of A New Unified Theory of Psychology (Springer, 2011), and A New Synthesis for Solving the Problem of Psychology: Addressing the Enlightenment Gap (Palgrave McMillian, November 2022). His scholarly work has been published in the field’s best journals, and he has developed a popular blog on Psychology Today, Theory of Knowledge, which has received over nine million views. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the 2022 President of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration, and founded the Unified Theory of Knowledge (UTOK) academic society.

With all due respect, it appears that you have a sound conceptual framework for your UTOK but if that is not also supported by a Data Science framework, your UTOK will become nothing more than the 'art of saying nothing profoundly.' As a Data Scientist, you've got an excessive amount of metaphysical concepts supporting your UTOK model. Consequently, you've got too much pepper and not enough salt, to use a metaphor. Where is the Data Science supporting UTOK? From the soft sciences, I would begin to support your UTOK with a study of QCA - Qualitative Comparative Analysis. I would also think about how to model your UTOK with underlying actual data that can be used in the latest technological data science models. Another example would be the incorporation of Trajectory Mining. This is a truly extraordinary tool for modeling qualitative data in both psychology and psychotherapy. My last thought is that the semantics of language also considered a unified model in the 70s that was referred to historically as Hermeneutics, which is defined as methodological principles of interpretation. Like the experts in that field, much of the model they were attempting to unify focused too heavily on the conceptualization of ideas. Today, we have AI-based models of Natural Language Processing (NLP) that provide a sound framework for what is termed "topic modeling" and "phrase mining." More specifically these models substantially extend what was known about hermeneutics by complimenting the conceptualization of Hermeneutics through the use of a model framework for connecting ideas with actual data. In fact, these models have introduced what I believe is a new way of learning - I informally refer to as non-linear learning. None of these ideas or statistically significant models would have ever emerged without the inclusion of Data Science models to support them.
