Dude, you made and edit updating a firmware super dramatic, but in a nutshell that's how everyone feels, when updating their camera via software / firmware - hoping it won't brick. Specially on Leica cameras :D Great job man and looking forward for more M8 videos! Your and dromokratis videos made me look for M8 on ebay on a regular basis xD

Thank you!!! Your comments are much appreciated! Yeah, I was looking forward to getting out and shooting the M8 but weather has not good so I had to shift gears. I wanted to update the firmware so why not make the video on that. Not sure if that's a wise choice on my part but I'm trying to keep the upload schedule going and the KZbin Gods Happy lol (as I'm sure you know all about). Hopefully someone will find it useful.

@@camerafusion Yes, I know exactly what you mean 😀. According to my analytics I should upload after every 3-4 days to keep traffic on my channel, but with two small kids I currently can only handle 1 video a week 😀. Also when I want to experiment with something new like my upcoming video (developing analog film myself at home) it takes some more additional days 😅

I just got the GoPro Hero 11 Black and it's great but it's not a Leica or a Red or even a Lumix . But those cameras aren't going kayaking with me . Crystal and I had our 45 anniversary yesterday . And I just want to wish everyone a Blessed 4th of July .

@@camerafusion The original Q, the digital CL (which is amazing - IMO) and the M-P 240 the Safari Edition. Not countig the older Digilux 1, 2 and 3. I have been around a long time.

I have a Bessa 2A also in green a great little 35mm camera that I'm running a roll HP5 B&W through currently. Should finish it off Sunday. My first roll of film in several years. The anticipation is killing me... 😆

@@terryclair2914 You're speaking my language! I love Voightlander! I've got an old 1930's Bessa (you might see it in the background of my video) It is so freakin beautiful! I will never sell that camera! It's crazy how good the images are if I get it right. Although that's a bit hard for me to do, but man oh man when I do, it's crazy good!

I just bought a M8, it has 1.108 firmware. problem reading SanDisk Ultra 16GB SDHC. Shall I update the firmware? And where I can download? Tks!

Awesome! As for the card issue, it was mentioned in one of the previous firmware update notes. What size is the card? I think it only works with 32gb or smaller. I'll make the firmware available on Kingpincameras.com soon.

Hello, you can check in the description of the video. It shows most of the improvements over the versions of updates. However, I've since found out there is a more current version firmware"2.024" I found it here: www.reddotforum.com/content/2023/08/leica-firmware-master-list/

The strap is by evergreen (available on Amazon). Not sure if I can recommend yet as it's new to me but for the price its crazy good!

I had m8 and I dont recommend it to anyone, its a horrible camera: IR filters, bad colours, bad auto white balance, bad screen, horrible high isos, its cropped, most things are fixed in m9 but because of sensor corrosion its better to jump straight to 240 and forget the ancient artefacts, and if you want an ancient artefact get an epson its a way better camera then m8 ever was
