Pluto Much better than the Pyle so IMO well worth the extra money. Thanks for the comparison.

I am glad I saw your video before I got my Pluto 2. Know the reason I was into the Pluto 2 is because I have a Audio Technica VM530En and they are know not be bright when not put with a pre amp that takes it out of its input capacitance range of 100pF and 200pF and the Pluto 2 is at 100pF and I got cables that were 65pF so the total was 165pF and it sounds amazing. So in saying this I noticed people that had the Pluto 2 with the MP-100 on KZbin got a really light and thin sound. I know its hard to find the Input capacitance on the MP-100 but if you find it and get cables that will fit you in I think you can get a warmer punchier sound. I even contacted U turn and they advised me on what cables to get because the cables that come with their unit would take me out of my required 200pF. So keep rocking my brother I am a LA dude too so maybe I will see you at Ameoba music on day.😉

Very interesting device. I got one today and I thought I should share my experience since I watched this video and the one about cartridges. I’ve used an om10 with the built in preamp on my NAD for some time and always found some of my records sounding a bit empty.. later I learned that it is because the ortofon sound is neutral and more analytical and I think the gain on the phono on the NAD is 34-36dB with a very wide stereo image. I recently got a DC EVO with a Sumiko rainier then all my records came back to life! Sumiko is known for their warm tone and the rainier has thick bottom end. However… when paired to the Pluto 2 today it made the tone of the sumiko changed to analytical and rolled of the bass. I wasn’t expecting that to happen being a 40dB gain preamp. It doesn’t sound bad at all and it does raise the volume a bit compared to the NAD. I did like it but just like I like the OM10. Makes certain records sound really outstanding but some others sound a bit empty. UPDATE: the Pluto 2 makes my cheap VM95C sound like a more expensive elliptical stylus 😂 I guess if you have a low output cartridge it better goes with a higher gain preamp and viceversa. For those who know about guitars, it’s like pairing an amp to a Strat isn’t the same as pairing an amp to a Les Paul

the Pluto wins in this test as highest and lowest frequencies are boosted by my ear. the Pyle did not go as high or low..now as we go down this worm hole and spend more money on phono preamps the sounds just keep getting better. just need to find a stopping point. cheers!

I'm way behind you on my journey back into vinyl records. The UTurn preamp sounded stronger. I'm using my phone so that limits what I heard. As soon as I get my tax return, I am getting my first real stereo receiver and speakers. Right now I'm using an existing bookshelf system I got in 2003, with my Audio Technica AT-LPGO-BT (Walmart version of the AT-LP60XBT).

I honestly prefer the Pyle. I just ordered the Pluto 2. Now I'm kicking myself Oh, and as I'm in Australia, I also had to purchase a 240-110v convertor.

The pluto was producing both higher freq and lower freq output boosted compared to the pyle. my system is frequency sensitive so after some critical listening you will hear it im hoping. cheers!
