UTV Wilderness Camping Adventure with the KAMP-RITE Tent Cot
Hello all, welcome to another UTV camping video where I explore an old abandoned ranch and spend a beautiful night under the stars in my Camp-Rite Tent Cot.
I hope you enjoy the video - Esme and I really had a fun time and it was just what I needed after a difficult work week :)

I prefer the TEON Vista1 version of the camp cot as its modular. You can use the cot separately or use the tent on the ground. There is also the Elite Fly which cover the whole tent and cot to the ground - Good for storing gear! No problems with zippers or condensation in my environment (Alberta, Canada) 👍

I thought they are both made by Kamp-rite (I think i read that some place - kamprite.com/shop/tents/tri-fold-series/kamp-rite-original-tent-cot/) but there are some differences. The one I chose was the oversize model and has a bit more room and the vaulted roof. I did notice that the Cabela's ones are on sale right now! ($279 CAD - $100 off) and the Kamp-Rite oversize model is www.amazon.ca/Kamp-Rite-DTC443-Oversize-Tent-Cot/dp/B000I641UQ/r is $263 CAD.

I'm glad I bought the Pioneer 500 for the style of riding I do. I'm not much of a sport rider and I find the Pioneer generally more comfortable to ride than my Rzr 570. If I moved away from the 50" models I would probably buy a Ranger or Ranger mid-size. Having a larger cargo bay would be a big factor for me. Hope that helps.

@TheEmporiumOutdoors
@TheEmporiumOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
Hi NorthernRanger - I change my SxS every 3 years and try something new. I sold the Honda to buy an Argo that didn't work out so I bought the Can Am so I could fit tracks for winter. The Honda is a great little machine perfect for trail riding, hunting and exploring. The top speed (64kph) is a little slow if you are hitting the roads any but the reliability and quality (for the price) is excellent. It also fits into most 1/2 ton truck boxes for transport. I certainly would buy one again but I'd budget for changing out the tires early on as the small stock ones are terrible!! Hope that helps! 👍

I don’t know if you’ve bought your new sxs. I just sold my Canam Commander 1000. I’m replacing it with a Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 XTR 1000. They are the new model Wolverines for 2021. The RMAX line has several different models and options available. A few of the things that I have learned about Yamaha that I really like is their reliability. They seem to be out lasting both Polaris and Canam. They also have a 10 warranty on their drive belt. You won’t find that with any other manufacturer. Maybe 6 months to a year tops. Yamaha really did their homework when designing these. If you haven’t made up your mind, take a look at them. By all accounts, they aren’t as noisy and they don’t get extremely hot in the cab either. My Canam was wicked hot in the summers. Whatever you choose, safe travels and happy trails.

Very nice video. I have one of these but the last time out camping we hit a little bit of rainy/hot weather. It was pretty uncomfortable trying to keeping the side flaps open to keep the air moving or closed to keep the rain out. Have you found these to be kind of hard to keep comfortable in with wet and warm weather? I don't know if I would care to use one much in hot weather with rain. Any suggestions? ATB, Bill
@TheEmporiumOutdoors
@TheEmporiumOutdoors 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Bill, in Alberta we have very low humidity and not too much rain during the warmer part of the year. I slept with the cover off almost all the time. The cover for me is the weakest part of the design as it does not allow as you say for good ventilation in wet warm weather. In that situation I would remove the cover and just put the cot under a tarp. This will also keep an area around the cot dry for gear. Not ideal but it will work. Best wishes Michael & Esme!
@Yellow.Dog.
@Yellow.Dog. 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I will take a tarp along the next time I use it, good idea. The rain fly seals it up too much imho too. With a pad the cot sure is comfy and has plenty of length to sleep in. Thanks again, ATB, Bill
