Great demo Matt! It really helps when you play the sounds in context. We need more such "real-world" demos, by people like you who knew the original instruments.

UVI makes the best VSTi instruments for me. Great choice of presets (every dev could learn from UVI how to make presets!), great sound quality and very important: playability and response! Acceptable cpu usage and not a hundred options to tweak around, just the ones that make sense to be able to create own sounds. UVI - u r great :)

This is a good library, the sounds are really inspiring. I've got a prophet and it's cool to get the sound of the P10 just a click away on the computer, it's easy to work, be inspired. But often with UVI instrument I keep them, for some other emulations like Arturia once the ideas is ok I replace the sounds with real synths because there is not the vibrancy of the original. UVI instruments are more limited than true emulations with all knobs and original signal path but they sound almost as good as true machines and that makes a big difference.

What I want to know is are the filters faithfully reproduced? The Sequential filters are cleaner sounding than the Moog filters.

Bought this.. but had one question. When I played just the Clip Plucky sample on my system I noticed a weird low, double popping artifact during the sustain/release portion of the sound. I can hear it when you play the note also at the 10:18 and 10:38 point on the video. This is the only sample where I heard this. Is this intentional?

Maybe you guys should start releasing more Synths Libraries with more controls, I know UVI workstation is kinda limited but you could also explore Falcon options. I think something like Andromeda Library shouldn’t deserve less that Falcon extreme power, with the original multimode 2-pole and 4-pole low pass filters, the 3 LFO’s with their 6 original waveforms (and you could even include more), the 3 7-stage envelopes and that original mod matrix that would give us enormous freedom to travel around our imagination and configure anything on that beast.

It sounds a little dull and totally flat compared to the original and yes I lived with an original for 3 years. Is it the sound of the video or the VSTi? I'm not dropping my money until I know. Edit: Most of the demos have the same slightly dull and completely flat sound. One demo sounded OK but it was only one sound and had no dynamics. To be fair, the original v2 P-10 with the double keyboard never sounded as good as a P-5 and were not as punchy even though they were supposedly two p-5s. The v1 version of the P-10 sounded best but would overheat and die rather quickly. UVI should find and resurrect one of those with the single keyboard if any exist. The UVI doesn't have the aliveness that the original had nor the hi-fi like sound of both the P-5 and the P-10. I'm skipping this one. UVI can do better and I would consider getting a version 2 if it addressed the flatness issue. It sounds like they used a compression algorithm on the samples to save disk space and killed the vibe. I have no idea what UVI did to flatten the sound but I know they know how to sample so they can probably fix this issue. Most people won't notice it because they never used the original. I'm going to be honest. Most P-5 owners looked down on the P-10 for it's lower punch and attack. The P-10 wasn't as bad in that regard as the T-8 (also looked down upon) but the T8 was a different animal and didn't deserve the comparison. I own the UVI Voyetra 8 and it doesn't suffer from flatness. I also owned two original Voyetra 8s and know that UVI didn't get it 100% right but I don't care because it sounds good. It's Voyetra 8 "like" which is fine by me. I can work with it. The p-10 I can't work with because it's flat and a little dull sounding. Adress this, please. UVI has an original P-10 to compare it to so they might just not care. Getting the synth to play without hogging CPU resources might be their bigger concern. Only they know.

I think, that UVI kills the vibe of any original machine with normalizing, maximizing and perhaps even compression or some other nonsense on the record chain. Resampling it then to only basic 44.1 KHz and lack of proper dynamics have a negative impact on all their libraries, but it is their concept, they want to sound loud, but with most of the sound character lost, unfortunately. I have to say, I like those libraries, anyway.
@victorbarnes68984 жыл бұрын
@@vlnenet Since posting my post, I've acquired an original Voyetra-8 after not owning one since the 90s. We are all living a lie playing with modeled analog synths. The real Voyetra-8's high end is effortless, unfatiguing and it had real bottom end that moves my woofers in and out. The lack of compression makes many of the patches sound smaller than the sampled V-8 even though they have a much wider frequency response. This is because of the compression in the modeled samples. I can compress the real V-8 to make it sound bigger but I can't uncompress the sampled V-8 to make it sound delicate.

@@victorbarnes6898 - dude, Vintage Vault 3 cost me $420. I didn’t have, and still don’t have, tens of thousands of dollars to throw around on musical instruments. I love to play and record, but I’m not in a band and don’t have a record deal, so neither the original nor a sample bank has earned me any money. I’m going to get what I can afford and, for all its limitations, VV3 gives a heck of a lot of samples and patches of real instruments, and it doesn’t take up room in my house. Not everyone can afford to be a purist.
