I UVI found what was great about those 2 synths, because the rest of us slept on them. Also the 80s were not the dark times for synths, if that were the case why is everyone trying the get those synths. The 80s gave us some of the best synths every. They're trying to reproduce them all over again. Dude you need to do your homework. Hell, 80s synths is why you got this job.

Tony Jackson - he was talking about menus, regarding the “dark times” comment. The AX73 was a huge synth and no individual parameter controls. After the DX7, nothing had sliders on it anymore until the JD-800.

I got totally disappointed in UVI products when I bought their UVX-10p library as it doesn't have any original factory patches of Roland JX-10P the synth they kind of sampled the library from. They sell the library as a set of some alternative random sounds instead. So what's the point of affiliating UVX-10P product with JX-10P if any random sounds can be gotten from many other synthesizers out there? In other words it's pretty much the same if you buy a Roland D-50 with no any chance of getting "Staccato Heaven" sound out of it.

MSM5500 That's the way UVI do it. They don't claim to make accurate recreations of the original synths but rather takes an "inspired by" approach where they combine sampling and modeling into a new simplified instrument with vintage vibes. If you want to go the faithful emulation route then Arturia is your best bet.

...so this is simply a collection of samples of patches in the VX with sampler envelope and effects parameters put on top. It is NOT a soft synth version of the VX. This is deceptive and very disappointing but on par with what UVI does. Has UVI actually ever made a real soft synth version of any of the synths they sampled where you can completely make new patches at the patch parameter level.

Outside of Falcon, the programmability caries. Some of the VV3 instruments can be programmed more than others. But I’ve noticed that with some of them there is very little a player can do to create their own sound.

Also I’ve read that VV3 can be programmed better with Falcon. I’m not finna drop another $350 anytime soon though.
