Sorely missed R I P Esbjorn - This is a fitting Tribute to a great loss for the Jazz Piano world .What a musician ! Fantastic that Pat Metheny played tributes for his friend . I keep coming back to this concert many times, so emotional for us all and especially those who played especially Dan & Magnus. p.s. Sound Quality & picture are great Thank you uvisnigreen .

What a magnificent way of ruining an homage to a jazz musician...such a long boring excurse of the less representative pieces of Sevensson world

Dude chill out. If Dan and Magnus agreed with you, then they obviously wouldn’t have taken part would they?

I was a bit underwhelmed at parts, though I'm very happy that these things happen. I do think that the choice of pianists was superb though. And a few of the others. Danielson however annoyed me enough that him not being there is a breath of fresh air. The cameraman REALLY likes him. I would have reminded him that it's all about the piano today. Gagarin and Dodge the Dodo are representative of him of course. Perhaps not the entire way that they were done. I attended a posthumous event for Esbjorn myself though and was buzzing from the experience and felt privileged, so hopefully we can here too. If non-EST songs are played, then I think the best established guests would be Ethan Iverson, Ran Blake, and Tigran Hamasyan. But I'm glad they chose pianists I didn't know before. Let's hope they are as good as they seem to be here...
