After 5 years of development RapidMXS finally released UVReactor.
UVReactor is a high performance UV editor plug-in for 3ds max that doesn't require a modifier, making it ideal for on the fly UV creation and monitoring while modeling. Most of the algorithms are using modern technologies like concurrent data caching, accelerator data structures or modern CPU instruction sets like AVX2. The viewport is running under OpenGL. These things make it one of the fastest solution on the market.
Since it's working directly on Editable Poly objects there is no need for modifiers, you can edit the UV while you are modeling, speeding up the entire modeling process. Also it can visualize how modifiers are affecting your UVs (like UVW Map) which wasn't possible before. Also it supports all the selection tools, 3ds max offers by default (like form the Graphite Modeling Tools)
UVReactor is still under heavy development, but most of the crucial parts that really required for unwrapping has already been done. Please buy this plug-in if you are really upset with all existing, far from finished solutions or if you don't want to export your models back and forth between third-party applications anymore. This way you can support my work making UVR better and better over time.

Aweseome. Can I tell it to pack in 3 UDIMs with everything with the same texel density?

Currently UDIM is not supported, but you can pack them with the same texel density. The automatic UDIM support will come in the next few weeks/months.

amazing, honestly I would buy it if it could help me with trimsheets, is so tedious to apply them!! Could be nice to select a poly loop and unwrap to trimsheet kinda like decal machine in blender

Such a great work!! Just wondering, is it possible to edit a mesh at the same time that you are visualizing the uvs? I mean, does it works with an edit poly modifier?

@@marggz9303Thank You! Not with an Edit Poly but with an Editable Poly basebobject. Currently I'm working on the Multi-Object editing part, so multiple Editable Poly objects can be edited at the same time. The first Minor (1.1.0) update will bring this feature as well. Later I'll add a modifier as well. Currently the biggest two advatages is the speed and quality of UVs it can generate. Since it's in an early adopter stage, it's cheaper.

This is a non-modifier solution at the moment. A dedicated modifier is a planned feature for UVR.

@pi3c3com would that allow you to say have a uvw unwrap on top of the stack with other modifiers above it say, open subdiv?

@@2Polygons The plan is to make a modifier that mimics the behaviour of the UnwrapUVW modifier, so to edit the UVs on the stack where you want.

Hah... I thought Blender is perfect... 😂 Btw I can't... The reason... It already has one... :) The second thing is that this plug-in is highly integrated into 3ds max and it's not possible to port it to something else. (That's the reason of the performance)

@@pi3c3com Anyhow, really impressive!, I've been using Rizom when I was using max since it had nice bridge between which worked flawlessly, since I quit AD after 20 something years I am not looking to get back. Good luck with this one! Take care

How does this compare to top dog in unwrapping game aka RizomUV (in terms of performance and features)?

Regarding the performance it's much better. In features it's still incomplete in many aspects but a lot of missing features will be added in the next couple of months. Also don't forget that you don't have to leave max just to edit your UVs and you can use the Editable Poly selection tools and Graphite Modeling tools as well, especially the selection related ones. So in certain aspects UVR already outperforms RizomUV.

@@pi3c3com just a proposal. Copying UVLayoutPro features would be great, like cutting UVs in 3d view and they dissappear by being sent to UVW map view, to not interfere with unwrapping. Also the ability to show stretched parts right in the UVW window by painting stretched parts red could be fine too etc etc
