UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow fired for appearing in online pornographic videos

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Chancellor, Joe Gow, has been unanimously fired by the UW Board of Regents after explicit videos featuring him and his wife surfaced on porn websites. The couple, known as the "Sexy Happy Couple," had also been running a cooking KZbin channel.

Obscenity falls into one of the categories of Constitutionally unprotected speech like defamation, threats and incitement. Moreover, freedom of the press is not applicable to individuals posting on the internet. There is no First Amendment speech retaliation claim against the university in this case. Joe Gow should shut up about the First Amendment.

This makes no sense to me. He could have just told the HR department about his side hustle and maybe avoided this issue. Also, he's being moved into a faculty role where he'll be woking more closely with students? Makes sense. Where is the logic?
