Fear is an evolutionary advantage and is very real. What might not be real is the object of the fear, but that is what fear is for, to predict and potentially dodge ugly situations. I hate this kind of overly optimistic talk that's just empty words.

I guess "Feel the fear and do it anyway" is a better message rather than telling someone what they should feel or not to feel. Feeling of fear is real but fear itself is just trying to protect us from getting any harm in further. So feeling is real but the danger is a false alarm most likely. That's why it is okay to do it anyway regardless of feeling immense amount of fear. Everyone needs to look at their own situation and decide it for themselves though, there is no one cure to everything.

I have anxiety disorder. I've worked through it (and it has required a lot of work, like anything if you want to reach a breakthrough) and would have done so much earlier, had I known what it was, and not anything to do with my intelligence. Listen to Uzo and listen to me: go for whatever it is. I'm now doing what people who didn't understand me and what I go through tried to tell me I couldn't do. And there will always be people who don't get it and refuse to listen. Screw them. I can now read, write or speak in about 15 languages and am working on a degree in architecture, taking all the math requirements and maintaining an honors GPA.
