Great video! I enjoy the variety and now the analysis of different resellers' strategies. From this video, I was encouraged to know you don't need to give away the store to be successful. I'm still learning about what are good pickups. It's a process for sure.

Thank you Kathleen! No, you don't need to give your items away. You do have to plan for offers and sales when you price it. Of course, it helps greatly to buy it as cheap as possible. It's a never ending learning process! Gotta love it!

I lived in East Tennessee for 30 years. Your video made me homesick. I moved from Johnson City 4 years ago. I was not picking when I lived there.I did go to Tri Cities Flea Market. MY favorite was Jonesborough Flea Market. I sold plants and herbs when I lived there at the Farmers Markets and Flea Markets. There was an Auction in Jonesborough, I am not sure if it's still there. It was always fun and very different. I happened on your channel when I was looking about how to update new shipping policies. It was very helpful! Thank you!~ Happy Picking. I am also an everything seller. So many fun items to learn about,research and sell. I'll be binge watching you videos. Happy Picking and Selling!

I understand! We've only been here six years and I can't imagine every leaving. Thanks for sharing about Jonesborough. We haven't gone there yet. The Tri-Cities flea market is big but not much vintage anymore. A lot of the booths are even open when we go. Not sure how they pay their rent. So glad you found me through the Ground Advantage video! I'll be touching on that again in tomorrow's (Thurs) vlog as I share new info. We too love selling "everything" and anything we can make a profit on. Thanks Wren and welcome to our channel! And, thanks for binge watching my older videos. It helps a lot! Happy Sales to you....

Hi guys!! That cookie jar with the cookies on it made my ❤flutter… same one we had when I was growing up! Makes sense as I’m a Southern California girl! FYI, I wash plush quite often, I hand wash it if needed or just wash certain areas with a washcloth. I then put it in a lingerie bag and put in the dryer for about 5 minutes to help sanitize, then air dry. I just use Dawn dish soap. Thanks for sharing that and for all your helpful videos

Working on it! OMGosh, videos do, don't they? You are absolutely correct. One only knows what it really takes if they actually make and edit their own videos. Sometimes, I feel like it's aging me.... I make the video (shopping, etc.), face time the video, video the packing, edit the video for HOURS, remove out all the pauses and down time, add transitions, text overlay, music and watch back the video numerous times for final checks etc. etc. Whew! I'm exhausted just talking about it. LOL. Thanks Emily! I appreciate your appreciation!

Your videos are just wonderful! Entertaining as well as educational 🤩 Back in the mid 90’s we lived about 30mi north of Detroit. There was a local auctioneering company that specialized in antique auctions since there were many old family farms in the area. They regularly held Saturday auctions at the local community center, and after our winning bids on a stacked barrister bookcase and a regulator clock, the auction bug bit me badly 😂. I began my life as an antiques dealer with booths in 3 antiques malls spread out over 90 miles😊. My poor son was my runner at the auctions, but all the regulars were very nice to him and he won a few items😉. Then we moved to Atlanta a few years later and I started selling on ebay in 1999 until I had to get “a real job”. I started back reselling in Dec 2020 to help my brother sell his late wife’s clothing/handbag collection. And the rest is history again!

48:59 Ha! Back when I sold on eBay there were No Stores (they started stores just as I stopped selling). I remember in the forums we all chatted about how great it would be if we had a “mini computer” we could take to the thrift and look up comps. Never entered my head that one day…. And this was in the early 2000’s! Boy things change so fast! Loved the video! Thanks for what you do!

I have the 2-piece cow dish that you picked up. Bought it in Manchester, VT about 10 years ago and I believe it was sold as a cheese container. Wouldn't be very practical for butter unless you used it upside down?? No, don't even see the cow. If it was a refrigerator dish it should be marked, I would think.

I recently started increasing what I am reselling on ebay. I sometimes have auction and sometimes buy it now without auction. Sometimes right after listing, I get an offer right away, and there are lots of watchers on the item. I don't want to leave money on the table and take the first offer than comes along when i think it will sell for a bit more. What is your strategy on offers? I love your videos!
@AvanteAvenue
@AvanteAvenue Жыл бұрын
You can always counter "early" offers. What is that saying, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." I've had many items that I've turned down the offer and the items is still sitting in my inventory. On the other hand, I've turned down low offers and the items has sold for more soon after. To bad we can't foresee the future. To answer your question, I counter. Only rarely is the offer so low that I decline. LOL. Thanks!

Following the breadcrumbs, I think I found her store. She seems to list mostly 'unique' items and it makes her store fun to shop. I found myself staying much longer in her store than I normally would when shopping. Her photos are clean, centered, and focused. She appears to have recently started using a photography app. I definitely learn from this series you are putting out.

Thank you for the video. I watch her because she teaches me about 1980’s and 1990’s. Some I know about because my daughter had some of those items. We did not have expendable income for extras back then so I’m not knowledgeable about a lot, plus like you I was working more than full time. She is another person I enjoy watching because she is so sweet❤. The area in which we live does not have auctions. However, the rural area in which we spend the summer does. We are forever family friends (going back to the pioneers of that area!) with the auctioneer. We arrive one hour early so we can look at everything and socialize. This is an area where everyone knows one another. Lots of cousins we see and visit with. We bring our folding chairs and spend half the day. There is a hot dog/sausage stand and homemade baked goods. It’s not just a sourcing trip but sort of like a family/friends reunion every summer. This is something I really miss living in the city.

Alas, my mother sold my Little Kiddles at a garage sale. When I asked her for them, she just played coy, so I knew. Lesson learned: When you get married or move out, and if you want to keep something of yours, take it with you then and there. I have been selling my son's rock band t-shirts he left behind but splitting the winnings with him (which are rather significant).

As a woman (seller) of a certain age, I find that my "perceived" value of vintage items is often very different from those of younger online shoppers. My idea of what things are desirable is often skewed, dare I say out of touch. I am often forced to compensate by lowering my price. PS. Love your Let's-Go-Shopping music!

Another good video. This time I couldn't guess. 🙂 I used to go to live auctions but got addicted...and was the 25 cent queen. I'd fill the car for about $7 with the stuff others didn't want. (I'm still paying for that via overstuffed outbuildings!) I had to cut those out cold turkey. When Covid started I did some local on-line only auctions--those I could research in advance but mostly that was stuff for ourselves and then it started to balloon and I had to quit that too. Now I try to limit my buying by staying home a lot. Sometimes I have more self-control than I knew I had in me! As an aside, as I know you do read our comments, did you see the video from FJ Treasures where he actually measures the rolls of bubble-wrap from multiple vendors? Shocking results!!

Thank you Lynne! Auctions can be quite addictive! And, they take soooooo much time when attending in person. Some very late nights! I had a huge basement and accumulated a ton of inventory when I first started. So glad, we didn't need to pay for a storage unit. I feel your pain. Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm going to check into it.

When the sale is over, it will automatically revert back to the original price. I run my sales anywhere from two days to four days. I start them immediately and end them at 11:30 PM. Check your calendar date carefully as it always defaults to one month out! Hope this helps and happy sales to you!
