Michigan fan here. I don't always agree with your analysis. After state games, but I thought you guys did a great job of analysing this game and your spot on. You gave Michigan, credit and you're right. State could have won this game tonight. If they had gone up early 14, nothing, it might have been a different game. Fortunately for Michigan, unfortunately for Michigan state. This game is played on the field and things happen, but good luck. to you guys. I think you're heading in the right direction .

To me, this looked like two top-25 teams going at it. It wasn’t terribly sloppy on either side, and both teams made some great plays on both sides of the ball. MSU statistically won, but obviously the final score is the only one that matters. As a State fan, I’ve seen my share of games where Michigan should have won, but MSU somehow managed to pull it off, so I can’t be too bothered when the tables are reversed. Michigan needed this more, and they got it. Kudos to them. On to Indiana.

MSU used both perimeter stretch plays and some inside plays against Iowa and UM, which helped; you simply cannot run up the middle. Again the Spartans gave this game away. Play calling was weak. Carter's performance was outstanding. Mistakes and penalties allowed Spartans to lose. 4th qtr, final play... needed 5 yards to get 1st down and extend the play. @QuantumRadii5 күн бұрын
How was it nonsense? Did you watch the play. What’s so hard to understand? In football, you CANNOT lower your head and hit a player with the crown of your helmet. While there are times where is not so easy to see, it’s pretty clear this is was #7 did. While the announcers were quick to say he had no malicious intent, I disagree. He knew exactly what he was trying to do, and to whom he was trying to do it. Again, off all the targeting/personal foul calls in this rivalry, this one is pretty cut and dry. As to the no penalties on Michigan, while rare for sure, this was a staple of Michigan under Harbaugh and something they’ve got away from - clean games with very low penalty totals. MSU had their chances, and they made critical mistakes like the missed FG, and the strip near the end of the half. Even with Michigan being down, this is still a team that plays hard and has talent. Can’t beat yourself like that and expect to win rivalry games.

First of all, I think the rule, at least this application of it, is stupid, yet refs need to follow and enforce the rules as they have been instructed, so I get that. BUT, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this called purely on review during a TV timeout. Maybe I missed it, but no flags were thrown? This call was bizarre to me. The QB was a runner at that point, not sliding, not passing, not an exposed receiver. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to go low to tackle without lowering your head a little. The rule needs to be changed. Michigan got a gift on that, with MSU losing their best LB for the rest of the game.
