Depends on the car speed and Engine speed. engine speed will decrease when clutch presses or in Neutral gear but Wheel speed may remains same. when again shifting to same gear, Engine speed and Transmission input shaft speed (proportional to wheel speed) may not match it will creat a jerking while clutch release. if we driving in low speed in top gears (4 or 5) we can keep that momentum if we driving in higher speed the RPM will drop quickly and cause jerking while shifting.

Its hard to maintain a constant speed in city traffics. I think you getting a decent mileage from that car if you are in metro citys But still you can improve it by controlled accelaration. we can only get 40-50kmph between signals or traffic blocks. then what did we do? accelarate quickly to reach that speed. if you getting bad fuel economy it will be one reason. i think your car have the instant fuel economy indication in your console. just check what is happening when you hard with gas pedal. then try to softening the pedal works. try to keep the instant mileage more than your expecting figure. trying this method will improve your throttling technique.
