Hahah, I remember that. Back then my mom bought that game for herself while i decided for some Peter Pan 2D jump and run. But then I only played this game 24/7 even though it was laggy as hell on our old family PC, being way too much for it XD

This was a top favourite game of mine for several years on my small slim(bling bling) PS2. I had already played some other Rally title for ps2 but this one was just way better in my opinion. Doing the career mode and moving up through the ranks step by step definitely felt rewarding. V-Rally, Madden NFL and GTA San Andreas were my top 3 for quite awhile on the PS2!

how did you get it in widescreen (16:9)? I tried both the xededitor fix and dgVoodoo - did not work. Win10

It looks great on screenshots. It looks cheap in movement. Everything moves as if the game was sped up or something. OTOH the speed on the stopwatch seems correct. Probably it's just the way it is. Even though this one's technically better, I still prefer VR1 and 2 graphics. They're just more pleasant to the eye in movement.

The game in pc is very unstable as you could see by the movement i recommend playing on a ps2 emulator to get a better experience

weird animation stutters. menu animations are very slow and at like 3fps. the whole gameplay is 60fps but the game time is slowed down with the weird stutter. in 3rd person the camera stutters too. the cockpit camera is even more crazy. any fix?

This is how the game runs on PC, there is nothing you can do about it. The PS2 version doesn't had issues like this. This is the worst pc port ever for a racing game, and its literally unplayable.

Try lowering sound quality from Studio to DVD in speakers properties. Might help with crackling.

Wow, I was never fan of V-Rally, this was way after Colin 1, 2 and this looks so unrealistic.
