@@pafoneto1275 That's rude. Driver 3 on GBA may have bad controls but is still decent. Their other games are pretty good. Especially the GBC/DS/Switch ones. Or maybe your standards are pretty high.

@@supmattboy Which one? Driver 3 ? Jajajaja. You have to be joking. Don't get me wrong, the reason this is their only good game is cause in the others they were ordered to do really hard games to develop for handhelds, so the games ended up bad. And this game, honestly is really really good, is probably the best drifting game/racing realistic game in GBA by far.

@@supmattboy I think and no, this is the best racing game on the GBA period. Even others like Mario kart are kind of mediocre and have bad driving.

The Xbox version is a much more refined experience than that of its original PS2 counterpart. Utilizing the superior technological architecture of the Xbox, dynamics have been improved to produce more sensitive and responsive handling, which makes for easier yet still simulation-oriented gameplay. One of the big complaints about the PS2 version of the game, when it was initially released, was that the controls were extremely twitchy, so because of this, the developers made an effort to improve the controls for the Xbox version. Another complaint was the frame rate in the original PS2 version -- to put it briefly, it was very inconsistent during races and it was rare to see the game hit the 60 FPS target when it did so. Meanwhile, the Xbox version does a much better job keeping the 60 FPS target steady. Also revamped are the game’s special effects, tracks have been widened and improved, and the Ford Focus has had its livery updated in the Xbox version. The GameCube and PC ports only came out in Europe a few months after the Xbox version, and for some reason, they brought the frame rate target down from 60 FPS to 30 FPS, and they both graphically pale in comparison to the PS2 and Xbox versions.

Wow, so it's not just the resolution that has been wider. Also, how did those guys screw up the PC port? Man, the early 2000s were lowkey looking bleak for PC gaming. At least with certain multiplats.

so the PC version also suffers same issue? I really want to try this game properly as I loved VRally2 but the twitchy controls kills me I tasted ages ago in PC and it was hard, then later on the Gamecube version I think

xbox framerate is supposedly around 60fps, whereas PS2 und GC are most likely caped at 30

they are not 3D graphics and PSX, Saturn had 3D graphics in *1994* and PS2 is from 2001, so what is your point about "2002"?

@@filevans Actually the cars in the GBA version of the game are 2D sprites, that's true. But the tracks and the "game icons" in the main menu are in 3D. What's fashinating for me is how impresive the 3D graphics of the game looks despite the fact that V-rally 3 have comed so early in the lifespin of the GBA (the GBA is from 2001 and the Game Boy Advance version of V-Rally 3 is from "2002"). Interesting is also the fact that the GBA is an early 2000's handheld console that "despite the lack of a 3D hardware" is *powerful enough to run "software based" 3D graphic engines so it can generate this **impressive three-dimensional games. *The GBA is a 32bit machine. **For the GBA standards.

@@filevans What i mean is that *V-Rally 3 is pretty impressive for being an early 3D GBA game made back in **2002. *GBA version. **In that year V-Rally 3 comes to show the world that the Game Boy Advance is way more than a simple "portable SNES".

@@AlessandroCussino The SNES wasn't capable of actual 3D polygons like the GBA and MegaDrive are, calling the GBA a portable SNES is selling the GBA way too short. Sure they run 3D polygonal games at 20 fps 90% of the time, but it sure was impressive for an early 2000's handheld and a 1988 games console.

You know what's funny? One person commented that the 32X can't handle V Rally 3 on GBA, when there have already been driving games, not to mention shooting games on both systems that shine above this.
