Quick correction you can now capture warewolfs and they will stay caged during the night also their blood % matches so if you find a 100% warewolf you get 100% worker during the day and 100% creature during the night

Solid Defense although you'd benefit from having a servant coffin room on your 3rd floor, then pull your servant coffins down to your 2nd floor summon them, then put the coffins back upstairs, this way, in lengthy raids if your servants die, you can revive them which takes 10 minutes, as of now if they kill your servants they'll destroy the coffins meaning no more servants for the rest of the raid.

I actually Prefer Putrid rats in my first choke point. They do despawn after some time if they aren't re agrod, but if you start their spawning 5-10 minutes before raid time starts, you can have 4-8 of them ready at the beginning. They only get harder with each individual person in the area, and if they ever get De-agrod, they will full heal themselves. Also, with the Vermin nests currently you can currently have 20 of them at 1 time.

Putrid rats hit FAST for its level, and spawn smaller rats, as a boss its actually much harder than its level suggests.

I have another tip for people who build their base on a plot of land that has no plateaus. You want to put your loot as far away from the entrence points as possible. Therefor you should build the stairs to the first floor on (for example) the top right corner of the base (or as far away from entrance points as possible) and then the staircase to the second floor on the opposite side of your base. Then, have your loot and prisoners on the opposite side of that. Raid windows are short and the more time you can chew off somebody's golem time and the breach timer, the better

@devinvisible Since you can't put it on the high ground, I'd put it as far away from stairs and entrences as possible. Your castle heart is only in danger if your opponents have a key to the same level. Those keys are extremely expensive. So I don't think many people will use them.

Might be a stupid question but im new to the game. If the Server Setting is "can only be destoryed when in decay" does that mean I dont have to bother defending my castle heart? and instead just worry about loot and stuff?

@@LessFluff Depends if you play on a Hardcore server or not. If you play on a normal PvP server, then Raiders can't destroy your castle or take it over even if they have a Castle Heart Key of the corresponding level. The castle heart has the option though to disable deffences, and I'm not sure what that option does if opend with a key. I'd have to research that. Maybe the attackers can open doors or servants won't attack them as long as the effect lasts. I don't know what else could be meant by "disabling deffences". But generally I wouldn't put my castle heart in the open but also your main deffences like servants, banshees, werewolf traps and stuff like that shouldn't be around the heart but protecting your loot and your respawn.

I lot of good tips here. I like to also create fake easy loot rooms that are more accessible and easy to spot from the outside through windows or holes in the roof. I put a bunch of chests in there and also torches and statues to make them look super important. I have one big loot room that I can shoot into from the outside. I also have smaller tiny loot rooms on the outer wall, that have small chests with tiny amounts of copper coins in them, the idea is to make raiders think that the big rooms would have even better items. But the big rooms actually have tiny stacks of plant fiber and bones in them. Another funny trick is to put torches on doors that lead nowhere but leave the important doors dark. I did this for the door in front of the stairs to inner base and fell for it myself when building the base. When you have 2 doors next to each other and one is lit up, you just pick the wrong one without thinking.

My teleporter disposition links together two production rooms that are codependent on resources like the forge and jewelry shop that are otherwise too far apart to walk or jump the way there, be it it's on the other side and another teleporter doesn't cover it or it's one level up. Instead of having a dedicated hub space for them I place the teleporters in front of the the door of that room, so stepping into a room is as easy as stepping into another.

You guys didn't mention anything about the castle heart. The heart needs to stay grounded. What if a team thinks it easier to avoid stairs and go for the heart once the push up the choke ramp. What things should be considered when defending a heart? Might sophisticated multi floor defense push things towards a keying castles meta?

The heart is still on the ground floor in this design. They have no option but to push through all the defenses, which is why we prefer plateaus with single ramps to the 2nd grounded area.

Overall still a very insightful video, but knowing where the heart is located and perhaps getting an aerial view of the base would let people visualize the design a little better since you mostly teleported around.

But it is basically at the very back of his floor inside a lot of honeycombing with doors/walls. Also worth noting that the health points of doors and walls is the same so it doesn't have to be walls.

Funny story - About 4 days into the launch I was running around Brighthaven Docks, breaking boxes to collect schematics/glass/oil/fish etc.. Was only around ilvl 40-50, so couldn't fight a single mob in there - without it taking forever. Suddenly this Ilvl 91 guy named Livid calms walking in and basically 2 shots me, easily killing the group of mobs I panic'd into as well. I didn't think anything of it, simply "holy crap that guy grinded hard!! and cool to see that with the new content/gear you can reach such high ilvls now. What I didn't know at the time was that the max ilvl in the game is actually 84 (85 with Brute blood). The only way to get to ilvl 91 is to abuse an exploit (you can actually get to ilvl 120 using this exploit). So, whereas they've corrected it for this video - kind of funny to see these educational videos being posted by people on a PVP server who abused an exploit in order to progress in the game (your ilvl impacts damage taken and damage done to mobs, so at ilvl 91 the game and all bosses are easy mode).

Nobody is level 91 bud lol. I remember killing you at the docks actually. You can two shot most mobs with a legendary greatsword at level 84. All progression was done legitimately and we were max level by day 3. I strongly suggest getting your vision checked before you make incorrect claims against another content creator in the future.

As you yourself mention, this event happened day 3 after launch - so why would I just now bring it up almost a week later? Easy, because people in the Server chat were actually talking about it, and the character Livid being ilvl 91. Someone mentioned "he has a KZbin channel", and that brought me here. You're right though, I guess we've all got messed up eyes - you weren't exploiting, it's definitely a server wide vision problem. Thanks for setting me straight!

Build all the tombs, fill them all with ample plague briars, and when you are ready, you come in and top them all off with gem dust. Never walk in again.

Yeah I used porticulis designs in my castle as well, made a lot of sense to me. But can you still use normal ranged attacks from windows to attack players below? If so, there is use for battlements as well, and guard towers.

pretty good video i like that but i totally disagree with the banshee thing its not the 1st line of deff when your castle is breached your servants (best defense) gets alot of damage over time also you dont want a gate infront of your stairs because you dont want to get your castle breached. 1 tip get ONE chokepoint on a stair where you fight the enemies WITH your servants always close and open the gates when the enemies are nearby and recall your servants everytime you or them need to be full hp again.

Its has to be on the ground floor, but it is past all our defenses and surrounded by stairs, so you have to pass through every layer of defense to reach it.

That's all the first floor lol. It's a tiered terrain plot that allows you to have a hybrid 1-2 floors, but it's all still the 1st floor and they can't go around any of it

dang, this game is pretty complex! seems overwhelming. not sure if i want to jump into that learning curve. lol. I got hundreds of hours in Ark, Conan and Rust but only play solo. Is Vrising balanced at all for someone like myself or will it be basically like Rust with a bunch of Zergs or Conan where little bases are easy to find?

You cant really hide bases in the game since entire plots are what you claim to build on and everyone can see it if they've been on that part of the map. That being said, solo and duo PvP servers exist and are certainly right up your alley. There are even ones that only permit raiding for limited hours during the weekend.

@@SmokeJam If I were making the guide, I would have an example of tier 1 through 3ish build prototypes, each with a general minimization of space/travel time design, and with minimal building materials, complete with shopping list slides. There's lots of useful information that could be conveyed so that other players wouldn't have to compile it themselves. But yeah, the pressure of pvp is gone so some of the design ideals don't matter. Just look at how incredibly useful Factorio or Satisfactory guides are though. It's a blueprint.

@@Max_H I get the creative/asthetical part about a guide, but imo the game literally provides you with a blueprint idea in the sense that you have to build specific rooms for the crafting machines. Furthermore recipes are not hidden anymore, so you can have a look and plan ahead of how to position the crafting rooms towards each other or around a central storage area. The comparison to games like Satisfactory is very lackluster though, logistics and efficiency games are completely different to a loot goblin game like V Rising.

The ground level was built first and way at the back we had a couple simple production rooms going. Once the entire ground floor was laid out with minimal honeycomb, then we built the 2nd floor. The 3rd was definitely last but we placed stairs up to it as soon as we built the 2nd floor. Had a plan in my head as we were building.

i have no idea how a castle in pvp gets like that, my castle starts a mess and then keeps being a mess by the end except i have a banshee room

Our general process is we expand and wall off and enclose the entire bottom floor right away, while keeping production stations in small, separate rooms near the castle heart for the beginning. As we get more stuff, we flesh out the entire bottom PvP level. Once we have the resources built up, we then rapidly expand/build the top 2 levels. It helps keep things really organized while also remaining defended during the entire progression period.

Very classic build, but you cannot enter your base during a raid then, you cannot go past those banshees, teleporters are disabled in raid, you should split more, put extra corridor between banshees, servants are not necessarily have to be fought with this layout as they can make it to castle heart without fighting them from side and you can easily key the castle

Yeah think people forgot you can key castle on normal pvp too now. Just rush to the hearth and its gg for the base

wow ive only played pvp once and got sick of the guys helping you then kill you or on a different server they smash the noobs so never really played long enough , really impressed seeing this layout might try and focus on doing something like this on pve to learn as ive only ever made it lvl 50 before server wipes or shutsdown

they have to use golden key, access castle heart, click disable button there, then they have access to all materials inside castles (telporter, doors, etc)
