That was a nice review James. The pen also reminded me of the older style Cross pens. It looks good, seems to write well, and I bet it could stand in as a decent graduation gift.

Hi James. Good review. I also remember you mentioning that you spent a few years in Russia. Out of interest a few days ago, I was looking at other country stationery store sites, and I realized that Indian brands do very well with their pens in Russia and Belarus. Fountain pens from India do not sell much, but ballpoint and gel pens from Cello and Flair (Indian brands) are apparently rather common in Eastern Europe.

Good to know, thanks for the insight into the Eastern European market. When I was there the country was still reeling from the collapse of the USSR. Office supplies and stationery were hard to find and pricey. The only fountain pens I saw (because pens were usually behind the counter and unseen at the formerly govt run store) were at the mafia-run import store, and were mainly black-market Sheaffers. So much has changed (and changing again).

Decent looking pen for the price! That pattern would look pretty in rose gold.

I have several of vsign pens and this pen on mat black finish , I love the nib and feel on the hand , everything okay for me except cap and clip , cap is unnecessarily long and clip has lot of flexibility, converter jiggle a bit . But my hand writing is really good with the pen

Thank you James for the review. I am glad you mentioned it was comparable to the Cross Century. While the Century was the first "luxury" pen I ever owned, now it is too thin for my taste and grip (thank you arthritis). But I like the design and the nib seems to perform well. Have you tried the MaJohn P139? It is a bit pricey but the #8 nib may just be the smoothest nib to come out of China.

I imagine those section rings are bottle ink catchers. Keep the tissues close by.

That can definitely happen. First fill was incident-free. 👍🏼

Not a fan of pens with thin grip sections or slippy metal grip sections. But it does look quite smart.

Seems like a nice enough pen, but the brand name is so hilarious, for someone with a mind like mine lol
